| Re: TRX4 small C-hubs with Ackerman I was also wondering about the portal covers since the images above included the portal output gear but it looks like it is still the standard 23T. No reason to change to portal cover for that and it would have made a lot of aftermarket parts, especially brass portal covers, obsolete for anybody buying into this kit. That said, it would have been interesting if GRC had put out a 20 or 21T output gear which would have overdriven the front without altering the ring gear and pinion.

Haven't heard anything back from GRC. Wish they'd go ahead and release these State side. I'd really like to be able to read all those details about these. If I could just read Chinese I would probably go ahead and buy some, but English and Spanish are my only languages.

Just saw them listed on ebay, $85 + shipping for the set. https://www.ebay.com/itm/GRC-Metal-S...Ohg:rk:27:pf:0 As with all GRC stuff, I'll wait for other vendors to start selling these for less before jumping on. |

Do you want Ackerman for crawling?

Thank you sir for the link, I'm putting together a little something with this Toyzuki's SCX10.2 Chassis Kit , and the trx4 axles and so I went ahead and ordered a set of these. My thoughts are when you look at all that is included $85 might not be that far off. And Tim, the steering can be set up either way. Since it has TRX4 axles I'll start a build on here when I finish my Vanquish build. Ernie goobs beat me to it on the steering set, good job bud! Last edited by CODYBOY; 03-01-2019 at 10:07 AM. | |

| Re: TRX4 small C-hubs with Ackerman I do! Ackerman becomes less critical as speeds increase simply because less steering angle is required. But for a crawler, where speed is obviously not a factor, ackerman can be beneficial. I have three sets of the original GRC ackerman knuckles and I can tell a difference with noticably sharper turns with ackerman than without. I would also add that ackerman is less effective if you run the front axle locked or overdriven. Ackerman is most noticeable on high grip surfaces in the form of reduced tire scrub. The advantage of reduced scrub is simply more usable traction for crawling and everyone wants more traction. Three of my five TRX4s are fitted with ackerman knuckles and I like this new design with the high clearance C-hubs so I will be picking up a couple sets. Painting aluminum never comes out the way it should for me. I also don’t want to wait that long for the weather to be nice enough to paint outside. Didn’t realize I had already said so. At least I’m consistent. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Has anybody found an alternative source for these yet? EDIT: It looks like AsiaTees has them for $45.90. That seems steep for Chinese knuckles. https://www.asiatees.com/display?Tra...d=148805&pid=1 I still like the look of the GRC front motor kit. Sure, the motor is raised up slightly, but the battery is lowered. It keeps tempting me. Oh and today I learned "GRC is the abbreviation of Geek Racing Car. We love geek things, we have been looking for some interesting, unique, incredible optional parts for our cars. We designed a lot new things, using 3D printed technology to make them, and we only choose those really geek one to share with you." Last edited by JatoTheRipper; 03-10-2019 at 09:09 AM. |
