You're right there are some others radios from flysky using 2a, the compatible alternativ RX are listed in the manual.

I have some of those alternative receivers and they won't bind to my GT5. I know others have had the same issue. I have not seen anybody that's been able to bind other receivers to it at this point.

Don’t worry buddy, I’ll get the Blazer. I guess my love for a Chevy runs deeper than yours LOL.

Joking aside, really excited to see what you do with this. It’s a great looking kit!

I just got mine from my LHS. I went the through the packages and was very impressed. I'll be running a Holmes Hobby system in this rig: Puller Pro 2700kv, TrailMaster BLE and the SHV500 servo (I like this combo as I do not need a BEC)

I bought a puller pro 2700kv that was supposed to go in my Rock Rey. I didnt intend on buying a TRX4 but then the sport kit came out and AMain was allowing the $30 off coupon code and one thing led to another. Now im not sure where that motor will end up.

The mailman was working hard yesterday and dropped off four packages. These are the parts for this Sport build that came yesterday:

Castle Mamba X ESC - I have a NIB Micro X at home, but this surely won't overheat and I don't need an external BEC
Castle bullet plugs - hopefully they are the correct size
Promodeler 470 servo (and free decals) - first I'm trying this brand
Traxxas metal servo horn - have it on my Bronco and I'm a big fan.
Traxxas TQi receiver - I want the ability to use the Inclination meter on this build so I can measure the performance change of any parts changes. Very handy tool!
Yeah Racing aluminum servo mount - have it on my Bronco and I'm a big fan.

Nice delivery of parts for the Sport build. The Yeah Racing servo mount is really nice. I bought that for mine last year. I like that it has slotted servo mount holes on one side. The stock servo mount would only accept a Traxxas servo unless you notched the holes on one side.

All those good deliveries and you seem to be missing the earplugs required to muffle the Castle startup beeps pumped through that Revolver.

You're in for a treat the first time you plug in a battery.

I agree. The slotted mount is awesome and why I'm going to run it.

It can't be worse than plugging in my SMT10 and the dixie horn from the ESS immediately blasting at full volume. It happens every single time and I don't know how to stop it. Startles everybody around me.

Yup...like.
So you're going blx - which motor? Are you changing the gear ratio?
Seems like a perfect rig for a revolver motor.

I'm in the process of picking something myself. I already have a HW esc, so I'm going brushed. Actually thinking of a 27T motor. I hope it's not too slow.

I've been converting everything I have to those castle plugs - way sano way to hook up your motor. I shrink wrap them up to the lip of the plug.

Thanks guys. I used to thank everybody by hitting the "Like" button, but now that that is gone it feels odd.

I plan on using the Mamba X ESC with the Revolver shown at the bottom of the first post. I still keep thinking maybe I should use a HobbyWing 1080 and Holmes TrailMaster 550 that I have NIB at home.

I have a 1080 and 2 550 Trailmaster motors on the shelf, one is a 21t and the other is a 27t, in your opinion do you think I should go with the 27t in the Bronco and 21t in the sport or the other way around? I hear the sport is a bit fast with a 21t.

I think 21T is great motor for the 2-speed TRX-4 like the Bronco. The Sport is geared faster than first gear, but slower than second gear. I'm not even sure what I'm going to like without building and trying it so, at this point, I can't offer much help with the Sport motor and gearing choices.

Ok I think what I'll do since the stock Traxxas motor is still going strong, I'll go with the 27 in the sport and have the 21 to try if I feel it needs it., Thanks!

I was really tempted to buy one yesterday with the eBay 15% but I just couldn't hit that button, if I didn't build two rigs this winter I would have been all over it.
