Indybama that’s a great idea. I just got some lexan glue that dries clear as well. I think I’ll give that a shot on the tailgate.

If you do plan on running in a lot of mud I recommend one of these motor covers. I’m also running an alloy motor mount to help keep the motor cool since the cover only allows so much air flow.

Enter the TRX4 sport kit

Performance mods will be limited. (We’ll see if I stay true to that). Planning on old faithful 1080esc and a trailmaster 21t. Not sure on servo just yet.

Tires will be Proline super swamper XL or interco boggers. SSD for wheels.

Has anyone fit those 5.5 boggers on an unlifted TRX4?

Thanks for the read
They barely fit on a lifted trx.....these are them on a trx with the traxxas lift...
No inner fenders to worry about...but you will need to be very careful on body selection.

MODC I agree with yotadude looks great! Thanks for the pics.

My build has stalled out because of work and a busy weekend. Finally getting settled on a paint scheme (I think) and ordered the first upgrades (YR axle housings). Have the tires cut and siped similar to BMOWs tip.

Now I just need to build it...

I planned on keeping it stock, kept telling myself that, but these are going to look nice underneath with the paint scheme I have in mind.

Everything else is still in the box, hoping to get started this week or next.

Nice choice with the wheels. Axles look cool too. Looking forward to seeing this build progress.

What transmission or cover are you using? It looks to be aluminum.

Thanks dudes! I finally made some progress and got the transmission and chassis together. Also got the shocks filled up. Fenders are the wider TRA8072, not the narrow. They’re a little bit too wide but won’t require much trimming to fit under the sport body.

Axles, electronics, and paint up next

Haha, this was a two day task for me and done mostly while listening to conference calls. It was a process for sure.

I had ordered them separately. After that thread where it was discussed that the narrow fenders didn’t cover the sport body very well, I decided to go with these for max coverage and to see how much trimming is needed.

Got the rear axle built last night. Stuffed with Lucas red n tacky #2. Getting closer to being a whole turck

Build is looking good so far! Them YR axles look awesome.

I ended up using the same inner fenders. After a little trimming on the sides and front they fit really well. If you look closely at the pics you can see where I cut mine. The only difference is I cut/Dremeled the molded shock towers off and cut out for my Samix shock towers.

How are your fenders attached to the chassis? I started to cut the set from my bronco once upon a time and realized that I had to trim off the mounting points because the new shock tower used the same holes.

Looks good B! Clean trimming.

I was worried about the mounting tabs too. I "fabbed" up some brackets for the front fenders and was able to keep the rear fender mounting tab. I don't have pics right now, but when I get home tonight I will snap a few pics and post them.

Thanks! It took awhile to trim out for the shock towers, but ended up turning out pretty good. I wanted the inner fenders, but didn't want to give up my Samix!
