Such a great looking rig. Especially digging those wheels. |
Re: JDm74's Blazer Finally an update! First, I did get my Traxxas metal servo arm installed and working great. Second, a short video I made in the backyard: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/uyMbpBsVwSs" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> That was yesterday. Took it out today for a couple mile hike but no pics. The cheap servo had lots of problems centering and I was having to adjust the trim constantly. So, out it came and in went my Savox out of my Ascender. Much better. I did get my power shift RC light kit installed and it is perfect. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...b2266f24_b.jpgUntitled by JASON MCKIMMEY, on Flickr https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...5fe2bb26_b.jpgUntitled by JASON MCKIMMEY, on Flickr Pics really don't do this justice as the kit is not ridiculously bright as I was fearing and the warm head lights reproduce the crappy sealed beam headlights perfectly, lol. |
Re: JDm74's Blazer Oh nice! Got a link to that kit? I just bought the rc4wd blazer light kit. (For my 79 ford) but was going to replace the HID headlight looking leds with some warm whites I ordered. Those look great. Nice rig! |

Re: JDm74's Blazer Installed a 9 tooth pinion and took it for a trail run. That metal servo will definitely strip a plastic servo horn in no time. That Savox is a nice upgrade! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: JDm74's Blazer I got my high clearance knuckles installed which unfortunately caused me to not be able to use the RC4wd rally wheels. So I have some locked up RC's on order but for now these SSD stealies will do the job. Also picked up an Al front bumper. Re: JDm74's Blazer I want this truck so bad it's not even funny! I'm just afraid to get that beautiful body all dirty and scratched up. I guess changing the bumpers would help, like you did. On your light kit, is it able to be switched on and off using your receiver, or are they always on? |
Re: JDm74's Blazer As stated before, Lockup RC wheels installed. Wow these things are really nice. I think I prefer the old school style beadlocks without the internal ring. It seems much easier to get each bead seated like you want it when mounting. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...a377644e_b.jpgUntitled by JASON MCKIMMEY, on Flickr https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...bd4e9960_b.jpgUntitled by JASON MCKIMMEY, on Flickr |
Re: JDm74's Blazer Took it out today for a couple hours. 1 pic and 3 vids. Re: JDm74's Blazer So I just drained all the fluid out of my shocks. Going to run it like that and see how it works. When I was running it last time I noticed the suspension basically wasn't moving when I was running in high gear. The whole truck was bouncing. So in an effort to get the suspension to be more responsive am going to the extreme end then going to add back oil as needed in the 10 wt realm. Anybody ever run this? The truck seems to move more realistically this way too. |
Re: JDm74's Blazer New matching rear bumper came in the other day. Looks to fit pretty good. I got some scale license plates coming to cover up that Integy logo. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...9a9a1f5e_b.jpgUntitled by JASON MCKIMMEY, on Flickr |
Re: JDm74's Blazer Awesome work on that Blazer JDM74. With the subtle mods you’ve done, it’s really got that 1:1 look when it’s out in the wild. |
