Default Motor plate idea

I wonder if a motor plate/mount like this would be possible? I personally like to manually adjust spur and pinion mesh.

I've been wanting a different mount since they came out. Being a little OCD I find it unacceptable to resort to shimming with tape, ect.

Wish I had something like that for my Rock Rey. You can't really adjust it, it just bolts in and then you bolt down the belly plate and you hope everything stayed aligned.

I'd like to see a more adjustable motor mount for the TRX, it might quiet the gear noise a bit.

I changed out motors in my TRX-4 build this weekend. I am using the aluminum motor plate from Traxxas. Even with that metal plate there's still a hell of a lot of slop. It's unacceptable. It would be nice for a better motor mount, but it's not going to be easy since the lower half is build into the skid plate. And aluminum skid plates suck.

Have a look at the Xtra Speed motor mount. It has a screw holding the motor plate in place and could be an alternative. http://www.rcmart.com/aluminum-motor...4-p-79608.html
