Default Traxxas TRX-4 Mercedes-Benz G-500

Looks like RCMart has it up for pre-order:

Traxxas TRX-4 Mercedes-Benz G-500 Body Metallic Black 1/10 4WD Crawler Truck RTR w/TQi Traxxas Link #82096-4BLK PRE ORDER,

Looks "OK" in black, but it's still my least favorite along with the Tactical version by far. I prefer the Tactical wheel/tire combo, and I suppose the black MB500 body is slightly more appealing than the Tactical body...but I digress.

Anyway, here are the pics:

G Wagon and portals, winning stock combination with an incredibly high COG in the 1:1

Is it just me ?

Body seem a tad narrow
Fender flares seem a bit large.

Google however tell not so much, but i sure as hell would prefer a version without those huge flares, those i will leave to drug dealing parasites.

The Mercedes model G was never a nice looking one, but it is great for Offroad. Original build by styer-puch in austria designed for Military use.

From scale the g is bigger then a Bronco
334 to 313 wheelbase

It looks good and the body fits the chassis since the G-Wagon has portals.

Interesting that it gets new tires although they look like they won't perform as well.

The rims look like wheels from a hotwheels car

They look exactly like the real G-Wagon's wheels.

Maybe smaller wheels would look OK. But yeah, as much as I like the G class in real life, it never translated well to a scale vehicle.

As much as I like the TRX platform this body won't be in my fleet. I'll take the Sport body any day over this, this thing looks like it should be rollin down Rodeo with a celebrity behind the wheel.

I'm wondering if those are 2.2 wheels and those tires are the same outside diameter as the regular TRX-4 tires. It also looks like they finally made a black diff cover.

Like this thing in black/dark grey/whatever color that is. Looks WAY better than the highlighter yellow they showed off at the toy fair. Definitely needs some regular 1.9 wheels and tires though. I might get one. We'll see.

Would have to see one in person to decide whether I like it or not , wheels make it look like a toy rather than a scaler . Clear windows would certainly improve its looks.

The only way I could see it looking decent would be getting a clear body - do not use ANY chrome, paint it desert tan or olive drab and black where there's chrome...

And most definitely run steelies or military style wheels.

EDIT: Hold the presses!

Someone took an ex-military Gelandewagen and seriously decked it out right!
