Default GRC Motor mount

Anybody have any feedback on these? I finally shredded a spur gear and noticed a fair amount of F/R play in the plastic mount.

I love the front mount motor. I does take other mods to make it work proper. But changes a lot.

I have Just installed the grc one piece motor mount and it fits perfectly. Also gives the posibilty to check gear mesh properly.

I installe this one on one of my TRX4s which is the same as the GRC and it works OK but really did not add anything IMO.

I have been using the GRC one-piece for a while and it is mostly good, fixing the floppiness in the original motor mount, but it still has two issues.
The first is that it shrouds the grub screw on the pinion in some cases. Sometimes you can reverse the pinion to fix this but not always.
The second is that the hole pairs are not as accurately spaced as they could be. I only noticed this when I installed a Holmes Hobbies Revolver motor. The longer shaft required a motor spacer so I bought the Yeah Racing set of three alloy plates. These have quite tight mounting screw holes and when using a 13T pinion I had to use a bit of force to screw in the mount screws as they were binding on the spacers.

The holes for 9T and 11T were fine. I've gone back to the 9T as the low speed control is fantastic and wheel speed on 3S is still okay.

I have ordered an alloy motor plate, using the standard shape, and alloy lower cover set that have a screw holding them together, Xtra Speed Aluminum Motor Mount Set Black For Traxxas TRX-4 #XS-TX28060BK. This looks like a good option and it will put the, admittedly minor, extra weight lower down. I'll let you know how it is when my order arrives.

I've been running one just like Inspector86 and CODYBOY's since last fall and mine works great too. I'm even running an 8T pinion and all it took was a little filing on the holes. For less than $20, I think it was money well spent.
