| Aftermarket Brushed Motor Question
First off, I'm still pretty new to RC stuff so forgive me if these questions seem silly, I'm here to learn . It says on the stock TRX4 motor that it's reversed, so if I pick up something like a Trailmaster Sport 550 21T, which I believe is forward rotation, does that mean that I have to just solder the red and black leads to opposite color ends on the motor or is it more complicated than that? Could I solder normally and just reverse my radio? Any suggestions for motors fro the TRX4? I use it for hiking, as well as, crawling and have a max budget of $60. About to install the hobbywing 1080 Thanks for reading!!! |

You're absolutely correct in your thinking. So long as a motor does not have any timing advance (the trailmaster sport has 0° fixed timing) you can simply reverse the leads with no ill effects.
