Alex's TRX4 Sport kit build Hi All, i don't often do build threads for whatever reason but i figured I'd do one on this TRX4 sport kit - its one of the builds I've been most excited about in a long time for whatever reason. Also spent all my free time for the last 6 weeks or so upgrading and setting my new SxS for the spring/summer/fall riding season. I'll be building it mostly stock for now then tweaking it as i see fit. I've already got two RTR versions, both the bronco and the defender and i'm looking forward to seeing how the lighter kit version will compare. Simple build list for now from parts i had laying around: -Traxxas 21T 550 can -promodeler servo -HW1080 esc -FS GT3B RX/TX -no name steel bead lock wheels a few pics from building the transmission last night https://oimg.photobucket.com/albums/...psuv56t8ix.jpg https://oimg.photobucket.com/albums/...pswvkiyugd.jpg https://oimg.photobucket.com/albums/...pshwz0qboz.jpg https://oimg.photobucket.com/albums/...ps00mzhsit.jpg |
Re: Alex's TRX4 Sport kit build Getting ready to build my sport kit here shortly and am still wondering what grease to use...Is that SF-9 I see on the tub there? |

Re: Alex's TRX4 Sport kit build Hmmm Noleen on the gears? I've never thought to try that out. I've only been using it for my shocks to prevent leaking. |

Re: Alex's TRX4 Sport kit build had about 30 minutes last night between homework and other stuff that needed doing around the house - built the axles. i was impressed with how well they went together. https://oimg.photobucket.com/albums/...ps0d0gxwzx.jpg https://oimg.photobucket.com/albums/...ps09ysob6p.jpg https://oimg.photobucket.com/albums/...psnsfy7ief.jpg my frame rails were scratched up just like everyone else..... poor packaging to blame. https://oimg.photobucket.com/albums/...pskiaudjpo.jpg I'm going to try the factory tires but with some better CI dual stage foams and i'm doing to modify the thread blocks in the center like i;ve seen others do, the rubber feels nice and soft/sticky after i washed them. Re: Alex's TRX4 Sport kit build the wheels and brass chubs came in, threw that on last night. starting to look like a truck! https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...psyt6aprpf.jpg https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...psdctjvktg.jpg https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...pswlotaucp.jpg might need to do a little trimming on the fenders https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...pswwueep8f.jpg https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...psxamr9xzz.jpg |
Re: Alex's TRX4 Sport kit build pretty much the finished product, super fun kit to build. still waiting on a few items to install but its ready to hit the trail as it is, looking forward to getting out with it. https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...psuifjb7rg.jpg https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...psr6smthgm.jpg https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...psgyty6kzm.jpg https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...psqf1jtdab.jpg |
Re: Alex's TRX4 Sport kit build Wow dude! That silver blue turned out awesome! I had to trim the front and rear fenders on mine due to the aftermarket wheels.. I have yet to flip the bumper mounts but I'd like to do so. Kind of waiting to see if I purchase metal bumpers before I trim the body to allow for the bumper flip. |
Re: Alex's TRX4 Sport kit build Looking good! I dig the wheels a lot. "thumbsup" |
Re: Alex's TRX4 Sport kit build Truck turned out great! |
