Default Defender Evolved

Hi everyone I recently got into rc cars because of a friend and I’ve since gone off the deep end. I love working and modding just about everything I come in contact with. My TRX-4 is my first truck. I ve done some things that probably don’t help crawling but it’s a constant work in progress. Here’s a list of what I have so far. All the custom stuff is done and printed by me.

1. Stainless steel screw set. I now want aluminum and or titanium for the weight
2. Aluminum axles with brass Samix knuckles up front.
3. ProModeler 470 for steering
4. ProModeler micro servos for speed and T-locks.
5. Tekin ROC412HD 3100kv motor.
6. Castle Mamba X. Used to have Tekin RX8.
7. Custom steel front bumper with winch
8. Custom rear bumper.
9. Custom rock sliders
10. Mytrickrc DG-1 light bar kit with rock lights.
11. Custom bed with roll bars.
12. Titanium links
13. Extended rx box to fit winch controller.
14. Futaba radio system with 7PX so I can control everything individually.
15. Gmade wheels with pit bull rock beast.
16. Upgraded traxxas ptfe coated rod shocks with sleeves
17. Aluminum shock towers.
18. Custom low profile battery mount with extended rear chassis mount

Maybe some more stuff I forgot. I’ve since removed the front battery mount since I didn’t use it and it was unnecessary weight. I’ll add as I remember. I’m in the process of putting this thing on a diet because I think it’s two heavy. I bought a trx4 bronco and I like the short wheelbase and how much lighter it is. I’m going to shorten the defender down to 300mm wheelbase and put a proline two door Jeep body on. Any questions or suggestions are welcome.

Right on. I posted on another thread, just about an hour ago, about how I was thinking about doing this same thing with my Bronco slider. Look forward to seeing how it works out for you. Subbed!

Well I have since shortened the wheelbase to 300mm and put a Jeep body on it. Here’s a couple pics of the current state.

Yes its the proline 2009 Jeep Body. I’m really happy how its turning out. I just printed that front bumper. It’s a combination frame mount and bumper in one to raise it up and keep it in close contact to the body I have the first rear bumper on but I need to make a couple adjustments to make it perfect. I need to start putting my designs on thingiverse for others to take advantage.

Are the ProModeler micro servos drop in replacements for the stock traxxas, and if so, you happen to have a part number ?

I designed and printed my own mounts. I can post on thingiverse or make you a set if you want one.

This would be extremely useful, as I intend to use the same servos.
