Traxxas has been teasing TRX-4 tracks for a long time so I'd say legit.

That is so cool! I wonder how much they'll cost, and if they'll make them compatible with other axles?

From what I've seen, they're going to go for about $199.99USD.

Going to be interesting. Looks like COG is high. I know in the real world tracks on an ATV eat up about 1/2 again more fuel and consume 1/2 again more power.

Definitely going to look into a set of these. Will make a killer winter set up.

The traxx were shown in Nuremberg Toy Fair back in Feb 2019, and in the TRX booth along with the "Benz G" Body, so i'd say they're legit.

They are definitely coming out. My LHS confirmed they have sets on the way. Wonder if they will be compatible with other models, like if they are just bolt on or if there is a fitting kit like the rc4wd predator tracks had.

Tracks on RC trucks tend to reduce capability/performance from what I have seen with other manufacturers products. These tracks have a large contact patch so maybe ok.
I would have thought new portal covers are needed to stop the track unit rotating.

Maybe they only fit over stock portal covers?

From what I can see in this video and picture gallery it will fit over stock portal covers. So it will not fit over my SSD-RC portal covers. Hmm I will need 2 sets of axles then, that will be easier to swap :-) .

Looks like it doesn't utilize the outer portal cover to hold the track in place though it just uses the shock and a mount to the inner portal cover. I dig it.

I seriously doubt that Traxxas will build these for any other brand axle. If you want a set for a different axle take a look at the track sets from Integy.
