| Danza builds a TRX4 Sport
Once upon a time about two weeks ago it was decided that I need a truck that I can use for two purposes: 1 - getting wet and dirty (giggity) 2 - won’t make my eyes tear up and and my butt pucker up when a friend is going Miami Vice over the rocks that are taller than the tires. Enter the TRX4 sport kit Performance mods will be limited. (We’ll see if I stay true to that). Planning on old faithful 1080esc and a trailmaster 21t. Not sure on servo just yet. Tires will be Proline super swamper XL or interco boggers. SSD for wheels. Has anyone fit those 5.5 boggers on an unlifted TRX4? Thanks for the read Last edited by Topher Builds; 03-25-2019 at 03:16 PM. |

I run proline super swamper xl on my powerwagon converted rover. I also have rc4wd 2.2 boggers but they aren’t the xl.

Haha, thanks for the likes. Jordo those look really good on the P-wagon. Nice truck. Frankenstyle, sadly one of the BFG krawlers tore the third time I had them out, a screw backed out of a chub and it snagged. I think the CI lil nova soft outter were too soft for my application. Going to get a replacement tire and some Proline 2 stage foams and try them again sometime this month. |

Took a few unboxing pics. Nothing special but here’s what’s in the box in case you’re Ed Norton. It’s nice to open a kit box and have some cool accessories already to build with. The grill and light housings look nice and the rack doesn’t seem to be as heavy as I thought it would be. The overspray film on the body has some issues on the fenders but nothing a little tape can’t handle. I had thought the tires were a different compound than previous versions but after poking around the traxxas website it seems S1 is only specific to the 1.9 size and there are no other options for compounds. The bronco lists “trail tuned s1 rubber compound” in its features so I’m thinking these are the same tires. Not that it’s a bad thing. That’s where I am, both the 10.2 and the taco trx4 crawl pretty well so I’m looking for a different (and more budget friendly) experience with this one. Bought some proline 1.9 boggers for my sport but they are a lot bigger in person...was going to get some smaller boggers but wanting to see if I can make them fit with little lift and some body cutting....needing to get the extended links for the rear...was hoping there was a way to push the front end out...

Ya know, I didn’t even think about it. I was doing some maintenance for the first time in months and it happened the next time out. One of those things you only need to forget once. | ||

| Re: Danza builds a submudder Please excuse my terrible paint...first attempt at painting...took it out on a well below 0 day and rolled it hard and the paint let go...third picture I put a straw in the wheel holding up the axle to push the tire back to see what it would look like extended...I already did some cutting on the body and I have the shocks cranked up...I’m just in thought mode... |

So the body on the Sport kit comes pre cut for the mirrors and head and tail lights? That’s nice. I kinda screwed my body up cutting through the thicker than average Traxxas lexan.

It does. I actually just noticed that a moment ago too. My feelings are split. On one hand it’s nice that the light buckets are cut out. On the other hand if one doesn’t want to run the cage they’re going to have to deal with the holes in the bed as those are precut too. On the tailgate I was hoping to only mount the lenses and buckets themselves and not the whole black molded tailgate piece in the middle, but there are two holes in the middle of the tailgate for that to mount to. Have to see about finding ways to fill those. @ yotadude thanks for the pics, those are huge! I kind of think it looks better with the normal wheel base IMO. @yotadude that looks kinda cool where the paint let loose. Looks like some major rock rash or somethin in the pics. Lol @danza i used some locktite brand epoxy (2 part in a syrenge) on my tamiya f350 body. Put some tape on the outside of the body, that helps to keep it smooth on the outside with minamal to no sanding. Ive rolled myvtruck pretty hard n its still holdin Sent from my SM-J327VPP using Tapatalk |

The more I look at it the more I don’t like how big they are...think I’ll get some rc4wd boggers...great thread! Didn’t mean to highjack!
