Mini T springs on TRX4 shocks

I know that on the bottom I can swap over to big bore shock ends and then use mini T spring cups but has anybody come up with something to secure and center the spring to the upper shock body?

Does that spacer limit uptravel?

Also, what is the advantage of a mini spring like this?

Re: Mini T springs on TRX4 shocks

Main advantage is Droop.
Its not for everyone though.
I run droop on every rig I have.

I guess i domt understand what running droop means. Meaning you run deep in the travel so you have lots of downtravel at static ride height?

Re: Mini T springs on TRX4 shocks

Yes. Makes the truck sit at its lowest point.

What is your point in doing this?

I am guessing because the stock springs won't let you run insane droop without also lifting off the bottom spring seat when at full extension. If you can even get a lot of droop in the first place with the stock spring.

Crap. I just saw you answered it above as well. Thanks.

Same reason the big bores and mini t spring kits exist.

Lots of people have the trx shocks on other platforms so there will be folks that want this setup for comp trucks.

So are you literally riding on bump stops at static ride height with this or is there a little compression left?

Re: Mini T springs on TRX4 shocks

Would all depend on the spring setup. They have Soft, Medium and Firm springs.
But yes it will sit at its lowest possible way when sitting.

That's correct. The COG if very low due the rig sitting bottomed out. Like mentioned above, it's not for everyone. However, if you take a look at larger comps around the L48 you'll notice it's quite popular. You can still avoid high center situations with a correctly timed throttle bump on approach.

I personally run Big Bores w/ ultra soft miniT springs and 80 weight oil.

I actually found that on a google search. After reading i still was not 100% sure if droop meant fully bottomed out or if ut just meant you run more droop than compression.

I am kinda running a mild droop setup with my long travel shocks. It sits pretty close to full compression at stock ride height but has lots of droop available.

Re: Mini T springs on TRX4 shocks

Shocks are not bottomed. 40% droop. Works great.

I’m curious because I can’t tell from the pic. Is the bottom spacer solid limiting up travel?
