Default TRX4 Blazer clear body features

I just purchased the unpainted clear TRX4 Blazer body along with all the detail bits. I hate painting so my initial plan was to simply mask the windows and paint it a single color. However, when I opened the body package, not only did I find the expected set of window masks but to my surprise I also find a set of the two tone paint masks. So now I'm reconsidering a two tone paint job. Anyway, just wanted to pass along the info about the Blazer two tone paint masks.

Well that’s great! Would you mind sharing a picture of the masks? Does it come with one for the tailgate?

What was your total cost with light buckets and trim decals?

I will take some pics of the instruction sheet and the mask sheets. There is a complete set of body side masks including the tailgate and the top mask is in four sections. I think there are six different part # to get the complete body

8130 $70 body shell
8131 $18 decal set
8132 $7.50 door handles, wipers front and tailgate
8133 $7 door mirrors
8134 $15 grill and headlights
8135 $18 tail lights

According to the instructions, you apply the windshield, door, side and tailgate window masks. Then apply the top and body side masks, Paint the main body color then remove the top and side masks then paint the accent color.

Whoa where did you get the clear body kit? Only thing I found was on Ebay and it was only the clear body. Nothing else. Pretty disappointed.

I saw one at an LHS, with the trim and decals available as well but haven’t seen it online. Looks like they are available in the traxxas website though.

No matter where you get it you’ll need to buy the components separately, that’s just how traxxas rolls with the bodies. I think there’s an additional decal sheet, grill, mirrors, and tail lights that are all sold separately.

Hmm maybe traxxas website isnt working for me I've tried those part #'s on their part finder but it says there is no parts. The blazer body looks so nice man!

Update. Did I mentioned, I hate masking and painting! To that end, I masked the windows and I had enough. Simple black paint with the chrome trim and I'm done. MyTrick RC light controller and LEDs comming soon. I have to give a shout out to Traxxas for the detail bits for this body. A bit spendy by the time you get all the required part numbers but I think the results are worth the price.

Is the tailgate panel a sticker, or chrome paint? I'm trying to decide if Spazstix Mirror chrome would be too much since it's cleared brushed aluminum on the 1:1. Your's looks just right.

I hate masking and painting as well. Including the two-tone masks is an AWESOME touch by Traxxas. Even still I imagine those would be a royal pain in the ass to put on while keeping them straight and free of dust, dirt, kinks or bubbles.

Looks super and I rather dig the simple, all black paint scheme!

That tailgate panel is a decal and IMO you're right it does look just right.

I think PITA is an under statement. I have no idea how one would apply the top masks and have them be straight. I think for the top that the liquid mask might be a better option.
