Default Project Sunset

I got this a couple months ago and have been running it 100% stock the whole time. Might be the first time I’ve ever driven and r/c stock for more than a day or 2. I recently put some Gearhead EZ Locks and 1.9 Krawler BFGs on it.
More to come soon....

By the way, can anyone tell me if this rear tire tilt is normal and if there’s any way to fix it? It looks stupid to me.

No never rolled or anything. Both are the same. The first pic looks a little worse than it is for some reason. Here’s some better ones. Maybe I’m just being paranoid.

Yeah it still has it a little bit, I was reading through Dr Frankenstyles build and he had a fix for it. I’ll have to look into it.

Yep, mine did it just a little. I added a couple of little 1.5mm flat washers in the bottom between the axle housing and the c-hub piece. But, keep in mind, I'm also running alloy axle housings and hub parts too.

I didn’t notice really until I put the new wheels and tires on. I’ll probably just leave it, but I’ll look into it.

Finally got the hitec servo and bec put in. Took it out for a while today. A lot better with a stronger servo. New tires performed great! I really like them. I might change out the foams, not sure though. Any recommendations for foams?

I put CI Li'l Nova's in the front on mine and I'll order some for the rear after Santa's done. I'm usin' the 4.5 comp cut inner with medium outers and I love 'em. My truck weighs in right at 9 lbs and the mediums give a nice amount of flex, but still give me firmer sidewalls for side-hillin' and such. And of course that's in the G8 Krawlers.

Ok, my tires are very soft and it seems like they could use a little more support.

I would also recommend the CI Li'll Nova 2 stage foams. They will provide you with the necessary sidewall support.

Got a light kit and rock lights for Xmas. Finally got the time to put them it. Seems like a good kit. Easy to install.

I had it too and definitely did not like the xenon looks so i made my own pcbs (where the indicator is centered, too).
Question is: what lamps did the 1:1 have back then?
I can fit 2200K LEDs, which to me look like non-halogen or dimmed lights, or 2500K which is slightly below halogen (like "first gen" or so), or 2700K which is what is sold as warm white halogen replacement nowadays (and for me looks very well like it).

Not sure what most of that means. It’s good enough for me anyway.

I ordered the original light set, too, because i wanted the orange blinker glass and chrome reflector.
Was pretty disappointed that Traxxas chose to have the LEDs in blue so they look like 2015 Xenon lamps, not 1979.
So i made my own PCBs where i can set up LEDs in a white tone more halogen like.

Can anyone tell me if this is a bad idea? I used a splitter on the plug from the stock esc to run both my lights and me bec wired to the servo. Everything works great but I’m just not sure if it’s a bad idea or not.

Finally got around to putting in the CI foams. Seems more stable now. These tires seem to grip the snow really well. I recorded a short vid of it climbing the snowbank but I can figure out how to upload it.
