Default Tx issue....???

I'm guessing this is a Tx issue. I notice that the steering end points change now and then in my TRX. I put a new Savox servo in there with a BEC so I had to reset the endpoint. Sometimes when I fire everything up, they seem fine and go all the way to the stops like I set them without the servo humming. Other times I fire everything up and the servo buzzes as the travel is going to the stops and beyond. Other times, the steering doesn't turn as sharply (to the stops). This doesn't seem to change in the middle of a run, only when I turn everything on from the beginning.

I'm guessing this is due to the stock radio....???? I can't imagine it's loosing the endpoint adjustments every other time I fire it up though.....

I can easily believe your issue is related to the stock radio system. On mine you couldn't properly set EPA. One side would adjust, but not the other. Ended up ditching the stock radio for a Spectrum Rugid.

I've looked at the Spectrum Rugid but I'm finding I really like the three postition swith for the diffs on the stock radio. How do you have the front/rear diff locker set up and to which switch(s) on the Rugid?

I have a question, is the truck setting with weight on the wheels when you power it up or is it suspended so the steering is free to turn as you power it on?

Make sure that servo horn is tight. They like to jump teeth.

I never had epa problems with the stock system.

Usually suspended but not always.

This is an aftermarket metal horn and it's pretty tight. Don't think that's my issue when this occurs, both left and right lock are effected. If the arm jumped, it would go full lock or even bind on one side and not go all the way to full lock on the other.

I called Traxxas support yesterday and the tech said that they have had some compatibility issues with some servos. He specifically said Savox and Futaba. Not sure how that works though. A servo just "receives" the single.

He mentioned doing a complete reset on the radio and setting everything back up from there. Haven't tried that yet but maybe I'll find time tonight. If that doesn't work, they couldn't anything else over the phone and I'd have to send the Tx and Rx in.

Just a thought what voltage do you have the BEC set to? It's my understanding that the Traxxas rx is limited to 6v

The BEC is set to about 7.0 Volts but that voltage is only given to the steering servo and the winch. Everything else is powered by the HW 1080 set at 6.0 Volt output.
