Receiver box

Sorry for the annoyance. I've searched everywhere and I can't find the answer. What it's the plug in the top of the receiver box for? Thanks in advance

My guess is so you can reach in and bind if you need to.

Yeah that would make sense. I've owned it for nearly a year and I actually took the box apart to bind the radio when I and to. Now I feel so stupid
