| TRX-4 Blazer adding lights question
Im looking at some new bumpers for my blazer on ebay. they already have led lights installed. my question is can i plug these in with some splitters? or will i need to add a light controller of some sort? i really just want them on all the time when the truck is on. |

Its gonna depend on what LEDs they used, are they 6v or 12v or what. If its 6v you can power it with the receiver most run around 6v range. 12v would run off of battery voltage if you run at least a 3s battery. You can also use an external BEC or (if adjustable) the ECS's BEC to dial in the voltage to the receiver that suits both the LEDs and receiver. Most generic LEDs used in RCs are 6v or lower. Reach out to the seller and ask them what voltage the LEDs need. I avoid using light controllers by using 12v LEDs that allow me to run them at battery voltage. If you find out the range of the LED you just need to give it that voltage and you shouldn't need a controller. You can just solder these together (Y them together) so you only have the 1 lead to plug in. Last edited by HumboldtEF; 03-31-2022 at 07:04 PM. |

To add to what Humbldt said, I'd suggest that if you don't want to mess with the trucks voltage and you don't mind some extra weight up front, you can power them through a dedicated battery case. Either from a 9V battery or a 4XAA batteries to get 6V. If you get a case with a switch, you can light them manually. |
