Default TRX-4 Sport Inner Fender

Just scanning through all of the body accessories for the Sport Kit, I see that there is no inner fenders included. Surprising considering all that has been included otherwise. Having done a quick google search it would appear that Traxxas doesn't produce such a part. Is this correct? Is anyone running inner fenders on their Sport body, if so what are you using?

thanks

Traxxas 8080 is the part I believe. They need to be the narrow inner fenders.

perfect, thank you. I looked right at them earlier, for some reason thought they were for the other models. I clearly misread.

I ended up using the fender kit that came with my Traxxas Kit which I think are the same as what comes with the Bronco.

I had to trim the edges down to fit under the Sport body. I also cut out the molded in shock mounts to fit over my Samix shock towers.

You made you cuts around the shock towers nice and clean! Looks great. I just called my LHS and had them order in a set of the narrow inners. If I am planning to hit the snow with this thing I gotta keep the snow from piling into it!

Thanks smog! I thought I heard or read somewhere that Traxxas had a rubber kit that was made for the narrow fenders to takes up the space under the Sport body. I can't remember where I heard that at though.

Yeah, it is amazing how clean the inside stays with the fenders attached. I've had mud caked all over the outside and in the fender wells and the inside stayed nice and clean. They should work well in the snow!

No problem. I ordered the wrong, wider set, before realizing there even were narrow ones, so I'm glad to help someone avoid the same mistake.

Anyone have a picture of both the TRA8080 and the TRA8081 parts installed?

Haven’t installed the rubber flaps yet, but man do they have some weight. I’m second guessing even using them.
Going to finish the build up to a point where I can fit the body in to judge the gaps.
The instructions also says to trim them to your body, so I’m not sure these are fitted

It's really sad to see that Traxxas didn't include either of these sets in the build kit

If the kit wasn't so nicely made, I would be pretty disappointed

I agree! I’ve only the driveshaft, body mounts, and electronics to assemble. This is a very nice kit. So far I was miss a #3 10mm button head, and The rear link instructions shows 2 different screw sizes, 27mm and 23 mm, but you only have one size left. I think it ended up being the 23mm..
The flares should definitely come with the kit. Not much more material over the shock towers.
Did you install the rubber flaps? I’m eating until I can set the body on top. I guess you may have to trim the rubber flaps
