TRX4 Stock Titan Motor Connector size?

What size are the bullets coming off the TRX4 stock motor?

Not sure but you're better off cutting them off and soldering on XT60 Plugs

Coming off the motor?

Those are just inexpensive crimped connectors - they will not connect to 3.5mm or 4mm bullet connectors.

They're not awful, basically all RTR electronics tend to use them.

If you have a new ESC to connect, I recommend replacing with either 3.5mm or 4mm bullets, super cheap and pretty easy to solder.

They also allow you to switch wires on brushed connections if you accidentally hook them up reversed, which an XT60 ESC to battery connector will not allow you to do.

I have had luck using "blue" automotive bullet connectors to connect to the stock style bullets.
I still solder them, I mainly use them to make extensions or adapters for people.

Thanks for everyone's input, I'll solder whichever looks easiest, bullets or XT60's.

Cheers! "thumbsup"

XT60s should be used on the ESC to battery connectors, and the battery to ESC connectors.

They are not designed for motor to ESC connector use.

10-4, thanks! I'll use bullets for my motor to ESC then.

With brushed motors I've always replaced the stock bullet plugs with Traxxas plugs (or XT60, Dean's, etc). They may not be "made" specifically for this application, but it's a simple wire to wire connector just as the esc to battery connection is. Plus the current crop of high current plugs have far less resistance than the bullet plugs that are usually stock with a motor which should help with heat buildup and well. The higher quality solid bullet plugs are a good option too. Not saying stock bullets are total garbage, but it's cheap and easy to replace them with a high current plug. My 2 cents.

XT60 is just a pair of 3.5mm bullets with a plastic, nylon if genuine Amass, holder and is considerably more robust than the RTR bullets so it will work well for the application. Just make sure you don't plug your battery directly to the motor! Use a different color plug to be safer.

The XT60 plugs are being superceded by the SY60 which is more compact and backwards compatible with the XT60 connectors.

There are a couple of different types of three way 3.5mm connectors in a similar size as well, one type with three pins in a row, the Amass MR60, the other in a triangle, the MT60, which would work well with brushless motors. For those with tiny trucks change the number to 30 to get the 2mm bullet size.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...83218ee346.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...622e7028ad.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...cb1c7f7080.jpg

While I agree that there's nothing wrong with using a battery to ESC connector for motor wires, the reason I suggested sticking with bullets is that if you wire your motor backwards, you can just reverse it. Same goes for swapping the motor later to a vehicle that uses a reverse rotation from your current application. If you know without a doubt that your setup is wired correctly, by all means use whatever connector you want... "thumbsup"

And yes, these bullets suck and IMHO, shouldn't even be referred to as bullets:

THESE are the way to go, either 3.5mm:

or even BETTER, 4mm:

http://www.rchyderabad.com/media/cat...nnectors_2.jpg

and there's always the BEASTS, from Castle for use on high-power systems - 6.5mm(!):

I use the 3.5mm on my Holmes Hobbies Sport sealed endbell brushed motors, the 4mm on my HH brushless Revolver and Puller Pro Stubby, and the 6.5mm are soldered to my HH Puller Pro 540-L.

Re: TRX4 Stock Titan Motor Connector size?

Compared to the other bullets the stock ones look pretty bad but have a look around your car and see what carries current there. The 1/4 inch QC connector pictured is the standard connector for headlamps, 30A aftermarket relays, horns etc. The stock bullets are probably pretty close to okay for crawler use. But we do like to make things better.

My Revolver is close enough to the Mamba Monster X ESC that I simply soldered male 6.5mm bullets straight to the wires that came with the motor, no other connectors required. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...bbd8cbbb29.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ee5625bd27.jpg
