Exclamation Rear axle steer

Why can’t you just convert the rear axle to steering axle ? All the frt end parts bolt on. So far it looks like it just needs custom inner shafts made. Has any body tried it yet. I’ve searched but I can’t find any thing

Checkout Exocaged rc on YouTube. He’s done several 4WS mods using aftermarket radios. How he sets it up is really, really neat & usable on-the-fly. So he can crab too, for example.

You guys missed the question can it be done with the stock rear axle housing cause all the frt parts bolt on the rear axle other than the frt inner axle shafts are different lengths

You may have answered your own question.

I, for one, would like to see your results... go for it!

You need to make axle shafts the correct length. Suppose you could buy 2 front inner axle sets, throw the short ones away. Then grind down the long shafts to the right length and shape. But it seems like after buying all of the parts for it you could just buy a complete front axle off of ebay.

Hello. Just wondering if you were able to get this done. I am thinking about doing the same. The reason I want to use the stock rear with the front hubs and portals is to keep the 4 link and go with a axle mounted servo. Were you able to figure out the axle shafts that would work for this set up? Seems like that is the only issue trying this.
