Re: Getting tired Add uBlock Origin to your browser. |
Re: Getting tired Quote:
I'll just add I'm completely okay with seeing adds if it helps keep the lights on here! |

Re: Getting tired I get the pop up ads. I close the ad and then have to wait 15 seconds before I can load the new posts :lmao: |
Re: Getting tired Quote:
They stick ads between posts. Maybe its different for various phones and OS's, or you might have ad block on? Though what Smog said makes me think its different on different phones. I see ads but not pop ups and there's no waiting after an ad for me. |

Re: Getting tired I am on android. Don't recall whether it happens when on my pc. It happens every time I open rcc on my phone. The ad is bad enough considering I am a paying member. Having it followed by a page telling me i need to wait 15 seconds before I try reloading looks pretty lame on RCC. |

Re: Getting tired Personally i don't see that much ads. I understand they're necessary to maintain the site, but it's not helping when they annoy the user. That said: Nowadays it is almost reckless to surf around without a script blocker. Noscript is the least you could do. µBlock is far better, but harder to configure and makes some pages appear weird, whereas Noscript is simpler and does the job mostly. That'll get rid of most trackers and ads. Generally, it is a good idea to set the DNS entry of either your network card or router to an adfree version, AdGuard (search AdGuard DNS) has some that help keep your network free from Ads, Trackers and even Malware. The other way to do this is a PiHole. AdGuard is available for mobiles of either family afaik, and it does even more to protect you from Ads. It acts as a VPN, so it works on unmodified (Root/Jailbreak) phones, but it needs the VPN function, so using another is not possible. That'll even boost battery (less processor usage, less RAM, less data transfer) and makes most sites usable again, like in the 90's, where surfing the net was fast and simple. And it works on Apps, too. Everything Freemium is adfree, too! ;) The few pages detecting the adblock and blocking the user completely need to learn that this is unacceptable either way, so please use another site. None are so unique you absolutely need them. No, i don't get something from either, i just have the AdGuard DNS active on all my routers, and NoScript on my PCs Firefox and that's it. There are almost no ads at all, and that works for me. |

Re: Getting tired I get banner ads but nothing like the old pop ups. My computer is less than 6 months old and has windows ten. IDK if that help filter out the type of things you are seeing or not. |
Re: Getting tired I never AD any idea my thread would be so popular, |
Re: Getting tired And I thought it was only me having this problem. It sucks and I'm sick of seeing them. Just one me thing to be annoyed about in life. |
