Default Holmes SHV800 / Traxxas horn

I'm just finishing up my TRX-4 sport, and opted to try the new monster by Holmes, but quickly realized the Traxxas metal servo horn is hitting the servo case well before it gets max travel. Unfortunately, I took a nice gouge out of the case before realizing this - doh! Anyway, I took the servo horn to the bench grinder and made it work, but I'm still a bit shy from hitting steering stops due to where the Holmes servo output spline is located. I did find a BowHouse 3d printed servo mount that eliminates the forward brace which should help with clearance, but are there any aftermarket metal horns that work well on these trucks?

You cant adjust the length of the drag link a smidge to gain full lock?

One of my TRX 4's runs a 20mm horn and required a smidge of dremeling to the servo mount to clear the end of the horn at full lock in each direction.

Hmm, I hadn't though about that actually, I tweaked the length to get the wheels straight with horn at 90 degrees, but never considered adjusting once at max deflection to gain that last little bit. A bit of subtrim to get it going straight when at neutral position and would probably be good to go I'll mess with it once my new servo mount gets here, as that eliminates the interference with horn mount.

Head's up for anyone wanting to run a Holmes servo though, the Traxxas horn WILL require grinding else you'll contact the case - and that 800 I have had no problem taking a good chunk out - certainly has some oomph

Does everyone here get full steering lock out of their TRX? I've had issues in the past with the standard traxxas horn and multiple servos, where I can't _quite_ get full travel (doesn't hit the stops). Not sure what the issue is, mid-build so will definitely try to solve it this time.

I had all sorts of issues getting the stock radio to save endpoint settings, but no mechanical issues reaching full steering lock.

ah, yknow what? turns out it was endpoints. Swapped in my dx5c, turned up travel to 110% and away I go!
