| New guy here
I've been into RC since the 80s with a Kyosho Double Dare. Got into 1/8 scale nitro buggies with a Mugen MBX and a Kyosho Inferno, and sort of let the hobby fall by the wayside. About a month ago I was at the hobby shop and, on a whim, picked up an ECX Temper Gen 2 for our kids. I wound wanting to run that thing all the time. Turns out dad was hooked, and the kids weren't getting a whole lot of time on the Temper. So after narrowing down possible options for my own setup I started looking. On eBay recently I found someone selling their TRX-4 Sport with the Bronco body, and I couldn't pass it up. It was pristine. There's a park near the house where I've been riding and racing mountain bikes for years, so I know where all the good spots are. I'm not sure if the guy who sold me his truck is on this forum, but if you are, it's an awesome truck. My only regret is not finding this corner of the RC world sooner. 6C46A1B9-AFBB-4A16-BFFA-2873F014218A by Dirt Merchant, on Flickr |

Welcome! Great choice on the TRX-4. It is a solid platform and has great aftermarket support. I too got into R/C back in the 80’s. My first “real” R/C was the Kyosho Turbo Optima. Spent many years racing and left the hobby in the mid 90’s. Just recently jumped back in a few years ago with my first crawler. RCCrawler is a great place to find many great builds by very talented builders. Endless amount of info on many subjects of this hobby can be found here. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Congrats on the nice find......It's funny how RC Crawlers don't sound as pleasing as they actually are and once you're hooked.....well lol.

Nice Bronco you got there, I like the yellow. I too used to be into bashing and now am hooked on crawling. I find it so much more rewarding and fun. Plus they are slow enough that my kids can use them with me.

| Re: New guy here Thanks! The kids being able to use the crawlers is a big plus. I loved the Double Dare as a kid, and with the crawlers I can get my own kids involved without it costing an arm and a leg. Nitro buggies are so much fun, but the costs can start getting up there pretty quick.
