| Titan 550 vs apex 540
I got an Apex 540 / 35t motor for Christmas. Does anyone no how it would compare to the stock titan motor?

I wouldn't take one out to put the other in. That "Apex" looks like every other cheap rebuildable motor out there, in which case, the only real benefit is having bearings instead of bushings, speed should be very close between the 2, and I'd expect to lose about 1/3 of the torque of the Titan by going down to the 540. I've got a brand new RC4WD branded 35t rebuildable motor that looks just like that Apex, sitting in a drawer as a backup should any of my/my kids/my friends cars need a motor on short notice, I'd say it's perfect for that, but not an upgrade over even a Titan.

I will also go with Titan 550 21T vs Apex. Titan served me well over 1.5 years with been under water, dirt and dust. Pulling my 4 years old sled. Finally gave up 2 days ago and since i had Holmes Hobbies sitting as a backup I installed Trailmaster which seems to be quiter but feels less torque. On the other note Titan 550 35t is garbage, over 1 year replaced 3 motors already. |
