Default using lighting kit on house shelf

would like to use an eBay 3v wall adaptor to hook up to the traxxas 8030 lighting kit to be able to use the trx-4 as a shelf piece. what do you guys think? need to know what the connector is called that plugs into the traxxas supplied transformer so that i can solder one onto the end of a cheap 3v wall plug.

what i found is that with only the esc powering the light kit it does not turn on, the receiver also has to be on. those connectors are like that hanging off of the esc. id rather just supply 3 volt directly to the lights via a female version of what looks like a mini receiver plug or something that plugs into the top of the traxxas power supply. can't figure out how to post a photo to this forum yet. urls only? created a flkr account only to find iPhones take heic's instead of jpegs and flkr doesn't accept them..

Ah I get ya. You might just have to wire power directly too the lights themselves rather than the kit.

Could that not be a connector that's fits into the receiver? Looks close in size.

you might be right i’m going to check tomorrow. i’ll cut this wire and solder the new connector on, then plug it into a smart outlet and activate the lights with my phone.
