Default Big Siccx - 3DogRC's TRX6

Sawyers Aunt bought him a TRX6 for Christmas.
Yea I know pretty sweet gift!!
Here is the priceless look on his face when he opened it!!! In the picture is Sawyers other Aunt that wishes she gave him the truck as Aunt Mary totally stole Christmas this year...!

A great friend of mine @cnccustomwheels caught wind of Sawyer getting the TRX6 and whipped up and overnighted a set of wheels for the Truck with a note that read Merry Christmas Sawyer!!! What an incredibly generous gift!!

Now it was my task to raise the money to outfit those wheels properly!!

Lockedup RC rings and Scale Hardware
Crawler Innovations Lil Nova foams
RC4WD Milestar Patagonia's 1.9 4.75

Check the Mars Rover!!

Next up was a few body mods. I needed to make room for the big 4.75 tires so off with some of the Fender Flare it is!!

Perfect!!

I also had noticed on this white version Traxxas painted the black for the fender flares on the outside of the body..... One little scratch on the flares and the white shows through real good.... Removing this portion will allow less of the flare to touch the ground when she tips over.

Next the exhaust hanging under the rock sliders looks like an afterthought to me. Yes I know that is how it is on the 1:1, I think it looks stupid on there too.
I also could not stand how the body came down over the ends of the sliders, the rear portion gets caught on objects passing by and pulls the body out the channel is sits in, no good!!

I occurred to me if I swapped the sliders from side to side and once I snipped off the extra body that came over them the sliders line up with the doors perfectly and leave just enough room to put the exhaust behind them.
To me it looks like it is supposed to be there.

We got a quick trip around the circle for our Maiden Voyage (Outside the House) This was before the tires came in,

All that is left is electronics but that is going to have to wait. Hopefully the stock servo will hold out long enough.

More tinkering!
I can't believe with all the little parts they designed for this body they couldn't come up with anything to tidy the wires running up the A-pillar.... I guess I need to remember Traxxas is just barely learning to actually see through windows....
Shoo-Goo to the rescue.

While I was at it I decided to clean up the wires that ran elsewhere on the body. I have done this on previous rigs when there was nothing on the inside of the body to attach wires to.
Just tape the wires down cleanly in the route you want leaving an area of the wire exposed every inch or so then with a small piece of Lexan spread the Goo over the exposed areas of the wire and wait to dry!!

I have a question about what your wheel base is from front to middle axle and front to rear axle, it looks shorter than what I have for my 6X6 conversion?

That is Awesome, I would have been that excited if I got one for Christmas..
But. had to buy my own few weeks ago..
It was one sale, what could I do? LOL..

Fantastic mods.
I'll be keeping those in mind when I get around to working on mine.
In the mean time, I'm also building my own.
Don't ask, I don't know why either.. LOL..
Too deep into it to quit now.. ;)

What a great looking rig and new set of tires and rims! My younger brother has a TRX6 and I'm jealous of what things that truck can climb that mine can't. He looks absolutely joyous driving it! Hope you guys have lots of fun with it!

What is better than one 6X6? Two!! I'm excited to see what you come up with on the custom build.
Thank you, yeah I think those couple mods clean up the rock slider area so much.
Also, I read somewhere a guy snagged that section of the body that comes over the slider on a root and it tore the body halfway up the door.
It happened on the opposite side as he was watching so he didn't notice until it was too late.....

Scooped up the electronics!!!
Went with a Castle Slate combo 1900kv
Spent the evening soldering on the plug and the extra wires that will power the light module and the winch (one day).
I plan to use a splitter on the channel that operates the transmission shift servo for the Mamba X auxiliary wire and assign that to drag break. Then I can have full drag break in 1st gear and no drag once I shift into 2nd!
