That's a nice-looking rig. I dig the tan paint.

I used a front bumper mount in the back to gain a bit of clearance. Trimmed the body a bit in the back. I would have flipped the mount but it seemed to me that a lot of trimming had to be done and the back of the bed would look too short.

Next upgrade is an ecoboost high torque servo along with a metal traxxas servo horn.

Also i relocated the electronics in order to run the battery on one of the sliders.
Nothing new here. Just ideas coming from guys in the forum i have been reading the past years.
Took out the original battery plate. Not needed anymore.
Before and after picture.

I am trying to built this truck for performance but i do love the look of the inner fenders. These are the narrow style and they have 4 shock positions in the back.

Installing the fenders raised the body on the back by 10mm for some reason. I don't know if this is normal.

Anyway i flipped tha front bumper mount i used in the back and adjusted the rear bumper.

I put the shocks one position inboard but i think i will move them to the second.

Moving on to performance upgrades to offset the scale ones.
Cheap brass weights 112grams each. Fits in the stock plastic rims.
I don't like the brass colour, but it will do for now. Maybe i will find something to blackened them out in the future

Congrats! It's a great looking truck. I think you'll love the TRX-4.

Thank you!

I didn't realize you already have a Defender. I guess you like the TRX-4 if you got another one. Both are nice trucks!

Looking good. I’m curious how you feel the defender and sport compare to each other? Besides obvious things like Diffs and trans. Curious about body size and wheel base differences.

I built a sport kit and the regular trx4 chassis kit, deciding on a body for the chassis kit and am thinking about getting the defender body. In hindsight I should have just got the rtr but it’s too late now.

Sport, i think has better chances of performance because of the lower overall weight.
Defender body and lockers is something i enjoy lately, locking and unlocking the rear one to help reposition the truck before making the climb. Also i like the defender body, a popular truck where i live, much like a Bronco in the U.S.A.
Now about the wheelbase difference. A much more complicated issue for me, been a noob.
I streched my wraith and my ax10 deadbolt and this helped significantly on vertical climbs, since the front tyres start to lower above the ledge of what it is you are climbing. Also they became a lot more stable for some reason ( again, maybe i don't know what i am talking about, these are just observations with different setups.)
I am going to have to test the shorter wheelbase of the sport to discover the pros and cons of that. I haven't driven it yet.
I don't have the defender with me now but i will try to get back to you with some comparison pictures of the size

Anyway today i modified the stock tyres by cutting the usual lugs of it, seen everywhere in the forum, no need to explain.
For some strange reason i just want to do the front tyres, i don't want to increase traction to the back tyres since they always have more than enough due to the transfer of the weight.
I will run it stock, glued on the plastic rims for now.
By the way i didn't put the rest of the sticker on the flares because i am planning to cut them at that position, i know it looks ugly.

Thanks for the feedback!

I find myself really enjoying the challenge of trying to hit everything with unlocked diffs. Makes you think a little more, and makes you understand how certain things work in relation to each other. And you always have the magic switch that will make it go through almost anything.

My first rig was an scx10.2 deadbolt and I upgraded enough that I pretty much handled every obstacle I normally drove on with ease, and it got boring real fast. I’m not opposed to a little more challenge to keep things interesting.

Enough of the sidetrack about my stuff, your sport is looking good, and I look forward to more updates. Thanks again.
