Default I did a thing today

I've had a TRX4 Bronco for almost a year now. It's been a great all around rig.
I recently added a full roof rack, and of course, that makes side hilling a bit more challenging.
To help compensate for the rack, I shopped around for a battery holder that lowers the battery. I found a couple, and was leaning towards getting the BowHouse version. I had it in the cart and was ready to order, then checked my bank account for toys. I had less than $5 in there...
So needless to say, I didn't order it. Later, I was in my basement and saw the brass stuff I have for building slot car chassis's. A light went off, and I went to work.
With the BowHouse version in mind, I ended up with this. The stock holder weighs 2.6 oz, and my brass unit weighs .8 oz, so a bit of weight savings

This pic shows how much lower the front of the battery gets. The downside, because of the tranny, the battery does sit further back.

Here it is mounted.

I made it specific for the battery I use the most.

Because of heavy rains today, I haven't chance to try it out. Fingers are crossed it helps with side hilling

Looks good to me.

The nice thing About the Bowhouse kit is that it comes with a chassis brace relocation. It allows the battery to sit level and low.

I chopped up one of the trays i bought from asiatees or somewhere like that and did something similar. It gets it lower than the bowhouse tray but is also so low that links will hit it in straight up/down movement.

It should come from Traxxas exactly like that.

Easy cheap mod for sure and it works, great. I've been eying out the bowhouse battery tray too. One day I just need to order it. I've already dumped to much money in my trx4, lol what's a little more right?
