Default Sloppy knuckles...

I picked up a TRX-4 sport from FB market place. One of the things I've noticed is the slop where the knuckle bolts to the C on the forward axle. Is there anything I can do to tighten this up?

Check to make sure the bushing are installed in the top and bottom of the c-hub where the screws attach the portal to the c-hub.

Well, I pulled the whole axle apart and the bushings ARE installed in the C but they are super, super sloppy. Not really sure what to try next...

If the knuckle has up/down play you can use 3x6x.1 shims to reduce the slop. If the kingpin pivot bushings flop around in the c-hubs like the c-hub bore is to large than it is time for new c-hubs. Stockers are $5. I'm partial to the Locked up steel replacements.

Yeah, it’s for sure the bushings in the C. I’ll get some new ones from my LHS today but I’ll for sure order the steel bits from locked up. Thanks!!

Got the stock replacements today, they were just as bad. I ended up putting a small m3 washer top and bottom of the C and that helped a ton. It still has a little play but way more tolerable.

I'm struggling to believe they have slop, mine are 2 years old and tighter than a woman's purse. Traxxas quality control is very very good usually.

If you have slop and you're not sure which part is causing it, you'd have to replace the C-hubs and the knuckles.

The new Traxxas parts typically have great fit and not much slop.
