Default TRX4 axle swap

I want to replace the plastic axles on my TRX 4 defender with metal ones, can anybody recommend a good replacement and if they are made in Steel, Brass or aluminium, ( I'm English and based in the UK, so will use the British spelling of words)

Yeah Racing aluminum axles have don't my well. They're a pretty snug fit with other after market parts though.

You can also buy just the axle housings separately if you don't need the skid plates or plan to use different differential covers.

I just installed the That exact setup, minus the diff cover and skids. Went together perfectly. Nice snug fit.

They are a very tight fit with the SSD portal deletes. Like tapped on with a mallet probably never going to come off again tight

I’m running Samix aluminum inner and outer portal covers in the rear. Also Samix brass CHub & portal housing with SSD brass portal covers in the front. Everything fit perfectly. No mallet needed.

Very well could just be a QC thing between the anodized coatings of the SSD x YR parts. I used to run Samix brass portals as well with no issue.

I have fitted Samix portals to My TRX 4 and they run great and I am in the process of getting the rest of the Samix gear for the axles, got the Yeah racing aluminium axles on order, so it will take a few weeks before I get them From the USA and due to Brexit, the corona virus pandemic, it will be an age to get them through British customs, with an additional £8 for the post office handling fee if there is a tax and VAT charge applied

nice mods and truck

as you can see I have the Samix drive shafts under all the dirt on the underside of the TRX 4

also got a hobbywing brushless combo installed, much better than the Traxxas esc/motor combo

well I was wrong about the British post office charging for customs and handling the Axle sailed straight through Customs and was delivered by DHL
ordered the Samix parts and they should be here in the near future so will wait to fit the Yeah racing axles until the Samix parts arrive

new parts arrived on my doorstep Monday after sitting in the DHL delivery centre all weekend and I fitted them tonight along with the Year racing axles, so this evening (UK time) I fitted the aforementioned axles along with a dummy fuel tank and exhaust, a steering guard, towing eyes and shackles to the front bumper/fender, got to adjust the springs as it is leaning to the left Hmm
