TRX-6 brass portal covers, how many? where?

Setting up my new TRX-6 which so far has been very impressive.

Installed Before running it a Wp1080, HH 21t motor, 7955tg, 9t pinion.

Just put a set of 95g ea portal covers on the front and I have one more set.

Should I throw these on the middle axle? Rear axle?

Or just put them on the rear of my trx-4 (kit, also set for crawling, same electronics) which also has them installed on the front.


Use will be mostly steep rocky climbing (boulders in concrete retaining walls or natural sand stone, high traction and steep)

Keep the weight on the front and remove the brass on the rear

I only have them on the front as well. There's enough weight out back with the 2 axles to keep the rear planted. I have the OD gear in the front axle as well and I'm very pleased with how it climbs.

I put brass portal covers on the front of my TRX6 with none on the back like the others. I don't have any on my TRX4 but will be adding some in the front only.

I used wheel weights in all the tires and more up front. I only rock climb...so I do not need speed. I usually slow crawl just about everything without losing grip. I changed to a softer foam ..so there is a little squat in the tires. I went a little firmer foam in the front; since all my weight is there.

Can someone point me to the heaviest portal weights for the front of the TRX-6...can't find much online for some reason.

These are the heaviest I've come across though all the the add on's may not work with certain wheels. Search for TRX4 parts, they are fully compatible with the X6.

I’d stick with just the front. The rear of the trx6 is substantial as is.

I’m partial to ssd portal covers. Love the finish and they’re beefy.

I have GRC on my TRX6 at 188g on max setting, harder to get as it’s not sold in the US
