Replacement micro servos. Good upgrade suggestions?

Hello,

The servo that handles the 2speed transmission has stopped working.
Are there any durable and waterproof options anyone can suggest, that aren’t made by Traxxas?

PowerHD has a low priced waterproof metal gear servo just for this. The TR-4 servo is available from many places including Amazon, eBay and likely lots of other online stores.

I recommend the powerhd tr-4 also. I’m running them for 2-speed and diff locks. Picked up a set of 3 on eBay for like $57

Agreed☝️ I am also running it for my 2 speed transmission and will be using them for my locking diffs once the stock servos die.

I generally used JR servos back in the day or Hitecs. Just got back in a few months ago after 8+ years away. Liking these Reefs Servos.
cheap electronics will aways be cheap, and cheap to replace, but a good servo will last a long while and usually only strip gearsets.

Whenever you buy anything electronic, there is a reason you can buy for next to nothing, and then on the other end, have to refinance. lol

Haven't a need, but been looking at getting the SCXIII kit. will get the reefs micros for it. they run about 55 per unit I think it was.
But if I was going old-school, I'd be dropping 70+ on the higher end JR/Hitec options. But changing times, and smaller wallets. lol

You could actually get them from the brand who makes them ....for way less ;)

This is the list of micro servos I have compiled. I personally have no experience with them nor have I verified they fit in a TRX-4. These are just options I've seen mentioned on TRX-4 and SCX10 III threads.

AGF A20CHS - https://www.agf-rc.com/servo-a20chs-p1671215.html
Align DS450
Blue Bird
emax es08 - fits SCX24 steering
Hitec hs65mg fit perfect but will need some creativity for the servo horn
Hitec HS-81
JX hv1151mg
Onyx S10 Micro Servo (ONXM0210)
Power HD TR-4 - drop-in
Reefs (believed to be rebranded AGF)
Spektrum SX107
Traxxas
