TRX4 Ford Bronco tire fitment help?

I have a TRX4 Sport and just got a new Traxxas Bronco body and looking for tire suggestions...

I will be getting these SSD wheels: https://www.amainhobbies.com/ssd-rc-...d00276/p779475

The standard Traxxas Canyon tires are 4.64 X 1.89 (118mm X 48mm) and I have Chinese Hyrax clones at 4.72" tall (120mm) are they are too big really to clear the body at full articulation and just catch on the inner fender. I don't want to cut the body!

I'm not sure I want a class 1 4.1" tire as I think it will look too small and hurt performance and pumpkin clearance?

So I am thinking something around 4.33"- 4.72" (110-120mm max) just for body clearance.

What do you guys suggests? Any pictures of your rigs?

Mainly be forest trails, loose dirt, mud, tree roots etc. Not much pure rock crawling.

Re: TRX4 Ford Bronco tire fitment help?

I have the Bronco, the Canyon trails are larger than what they say, mine are the same or slightly larger (both taller and wider) than every 4.7 tire I have, so I say get the tires you like in the 4.7 range and enjoy. I do really like the canyon trails though. I keep trying others and coming back to my originals. Someday I'll find a tire I like better.... someday... LOL

EDIT...
That's the terrain I run a lot of and the only tire that really comes to mind is the proline TSL, but I don't think it's really any better. I have a set of cut canyons and a set of cut TSL's ... both heavily worn in and the canyon's are better in your type of terrain in my opinion. Neither is vented and both are using soft open cell foams. They just seem to conform to everything.

I run the RC4WD micky thompson MTZ's on my (much lighter) SCX10 and they are better, but the heavier TRX4 would not work too well with them in my opinion. My SCX10 wrinkles those tires up easily as-is even when they were not vented. I only gave up and vented them because I kept getting pinholes in the (very thin) sidewalls.

Love my TSL's... no clearance issues and work fantastic in the woods....mud.... well, pretty much anywhere.

Running my scx10.3 nitto trail grapplers that are “4.7 inches” but really closer to 4.8 but I like the look and they don’t rub too bad https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...480d7ba615.jpg

I have never had any clearance issues with the PitBull Growlers. I run the 1.9 tires on a 2.2 wheel.
