Nice ....yes...better safe than sorry. I had to bring in my own testing grounds near my pole barn. I keep making it harder until I cannot consistently make it. Then it’s perfect. I have a 40 min. and a 120 min. drive to get to some real rocks and other rc crawlers. I bought grippy soled shoes just to keep my footing for a 30ft tall limestone area. I am constantly walking around my rigs while crawling.

That’s awesome Jeff!

I think that’s a great idea having the different terrain types. Gives you a good idea of all around tire and vehicle performance. Plus it mixes things up

Just found this photo. The place where you can fall 15ft if your not careful. This called for buying some gripping shoes.

There's nothing wrong with your videos. They're just simple and that's fine.

I love the house, the rock wall and the peace and quiet! Not enough left of that in the world!

Thank you! It’s a little easier now that I’m using the clamp to hold my cellphone on my controller.

The clips were never meant to be anything elaborate. Originally I made them for my buddy that got me into rc crawling to show him the truck progression. Then I figured I might as well share.

Everyday I consider my self very very fortunate to live where I do. From shooting sports to my new rc hobby, I can walk out the front door and do it.

I’m really happy with my little courses. A lot to be said for walking out the door to seriously put a new part through its paces.

Default TRX4 Test Runs on My Rock Walls

Spent time on the back wall last night.

Holee cow. It’s tough and fun.

The only appropriate code name for it is “Breaker.”

It’s not a matter of if but when and how bad.

Either from binding up in a blind hole that you didn’t realize you’re in, flopping during a 3 wheel transition to the next rock that results in a 3 foot fall onto a boulder and then cat bounce to rocks 2 feet below that boulder and finally the driver tripping into / onto the rocks.

It’s awesome! Literally nothing is safe.

After this mayhem, I went out front to “Flopville.”

Tried a reverse line about 20 times. Nailed it once and the others always resulted in the sound of lexan sliding on rock.

I learned a lot though.

After this was done I got to thinking.

In the beginning, I wouldn’t of even been able to start these lines tonight let alone finishing them.

So I am pleased with my progression.

The sound of Lexon on on a rock is equal to fingernails on a chalk board. I have the ESE Soundbox on all my rigs. The motor noise drowns out those scrapes. Glad you could get some crawling in. It rains almost every evening in Florida this time of year.

Ha ha!

True.

My buddy has the sound box. That’s just not for me.

I want to hear what’s going on.

It was a great night to play. Weather was cool and bugs were a minimum.

I’m going to try and see if the neighbors son would film back there for me.

Be pretty cool just focusing on the truck.

I use a Gopro Hero 6 for filming and mount it on a small tripod. Then move it to where I think it will get the next cool shot. This is the tripod I'm currently using.

Thanks for the tips Gramps!

I’m my first couple videos in this thread I used a tripod and my phone. Worked out ok but I want the footage to be right there and flowing.
I wasn’t really into resetting everything back up for the next section.

The little camera clamp for my controller I showed in some posts above works very well.
Exactly what I wanted for now.

It’s just this area is a touch hazardous to say the least.

I only want to focus on driving the truck. That’s the reason I’m going to try to have the neighbors son film a run or 2.

In the future I’d definitely like to try a mounted go pro though.

I like Gramps idea.....the tripod option. Some come with a remote control for the phone. I like this one with adjustable height legs for uneven terrain.

I did buy one of the mounts like you should a few post back. I also have a Gopro mount on some of my controllers but like the idea of being able to get the camera a little closer. I haven't tried the clamp yet just to hot here to get out and do anything. Just picked up a Gopro Max that I'm trying out.
