Default Trx4 Mamba X/Puller Pro VS HW 550Axe

Ive had the Axe 550 3300KV in my Trx4 for awhile now, and really like the setup..... I love the speed/slow crawling and power.

That said, once I upgraded radios to a GT5 I ended up really liking the fine control of a Mamba X and puller pro 2200kv in my capra. ve learned to take advantage of all the program options with the mamba and now I'm thinking of switching out the Axe 550 3300KV to a puller pro 3500KV.

So my question is does anyone run a Holmes Hobbies Puller Pro V2 3500kv/mamba x on their Trx4 with 2 speed? How do you like it? Is the power similar to the Axe 55o?

Any opinions?

Buy the Bluetooth adapter and you can make all changes, update firmware & turn off the annoying beeps with your phone. I have 1 Bluetooth adapter I use with 4 mamba’s and 2 sidewinders. Just move it around as needed.

I’ve used the mamba x with HH Trailmaster pro 3300, Revolver 2500, currently puller pro 2800 and a 550 crawl master pro 10t waiting to go in.

I only have the sport though and run 9t pinions.

I love it.

Is it heavy, noisy and spendy? Yep. I wouldn’t switch it for an axe though. I don’t even notice the noise anymore.

The proprietary sensor wire HW uses irks me. Being able to use the mamba x with pretty much anything sold me.

The programming is daunting at first but HH has awesome in depth step by step programming videos. The biggest positive of his videos is that he explains the “why” of putting a setting a certain way.

I use the castle quick link also just to eliminate wear and tear on the receiver and wiring.

I thoroughly recommend it if that is an esc someone is considering.

Did you see that mamba now has a direct connect sensor wire? $8.95 comes in 3 different lengths
