Default Cab only mounting?

How do you guys mount those cab only bodies? Obviously you can use the front body posts but what's the most common way to mount the "back"?

You don't mount the back, just the front. The two fronts will be enough.

Oh really? So it just sits on the frame rails?

I made my ascender blazer body into a square body pickup, then, in another phase, chopped the bed off to make it cab only. I had made a styrene interior that was relatively heavy. The 2 front posts were not enough. I made a "hook" in back out of a u shaped piece of metal that locked into one of the frame rails. The bottom of the interior keyed to the frame also. For a heavy cab I needed a 3rd spot for the cab to grab onto to keep it all in place.

If your just using a Lexan cab, the 2 posts will work.

I’m doing pretty much the same thing, except with the Bronco body. Just get a 12”x12” sheet of lexan off Amazon, and measure twice cut once!

How are you sticking that together? Just tire/wheel glue or something?

Honestly don’t know yet, but I’m either using shoo goo or epoxy. I think I’m going to play it safe and use shoo goo.

You can mount 2 body posts horizontally, either off the bed or cage if you have one, or off of the sliders. Use them just as guide pins to hold the body and use the front posts with clips to secure it. Just helps from flopping around. I’m running a Salinas bed with my power wagon cab with 2 post facing forward, and magnets for the front mount.

Pictures? I’m interested on how you did this, but not quite understanding.

No, but look at this video, similar type of set up, you just need to be a little creative.
