Default Rear driveshaft issue

Hey y’all,

So I noticed the other day that when I would throttle, my front axle would spin a lot faster than my rear. I had my trailer on at the time, so I thought it was just the weight of the trailer lifting the front axle up off the ground, therefore letting it spin faster having less resistance on the ground.

Well, I took the trailer off and it did the exact same thing. Well, I inspected the rear driveshaft, and surely enough I was missing a screw. I didn’t have any screws that would fit on hand and I had a meet up the next day I really wanted to go to. So, I took(Redneck DIY alert) an eyelit and E6000’d it in there so I could go to the meet up. It lasted that day and a few others, but now it’s wobbly and I need to fix it for real this time lol.

So my question is, does anyone know what screw/pin size goes here? I was looking on the assembly kit and I didn’t see anything.

Thanks in advance.

Thank you! I searched for hours on end trying to find it, but couldn’t. Guess I don’t know the correct terminology lol.

Not sure if they come stock like this or not, I'll have to check mine, but you can overdrive the front and or underdrive the rear axle gearing. The is used for crawling to give the front that extra advantage to pull the truck over rocks vs be pushed over them by the rear. So that's why the front would be spinning faster than the rear.

As you've found out those through pins have a tendency to loosen up over time and torque cycles. Best to torque check them, and the wheel nuts, between runs.

Are you saying you lost the screw that hold the driveshaft onto the pinion gear or the small pin (non-threaded) that goes through the actual reticulating ball in the driveshaft? The photo looks like the latter.

UPDATE:

Just to be clear, it is NOT the screws the first comment recommended. I found out right after I ordered those, it is the non-threaded pins that slide in I was missing. OnTheTrail was correct.

Not cheap, might I suggest a drill bit that you cut to length. likely stronger than the traxxas part anyways.

Yeah, I just picked up a whole new metal driveshaft. I like going through Amain and they didn't sell the coupler alone, and the pins were on back order until beginning of February I believe.
