Thanks! I gave them a call and I ended up ordering the booster/switch in one, directly from Powershift. It was sold out on Amain and Ebay. I ordered it on Tuesday....just waiting for it to ship .

''......The lights are 3S/12V compatible, and when combined with the Powershift Light Booster (PWR-025 - not included), you can supply the lights with 12V power directly from your receiver! This allows for a clean install that eliminates the need to tap into your main battery or run a separate battery to power your lights!...''

It's actually in the description if you scroll down.

Yeh, I read the description. First two sentences...."The Powershift Axial XJ Cherokee O.E.M Light Kit makes it easy to add lights to your rig. This is a complete plug and play light kit that is ready for installation when you pull it out of the bag!"

It literally says ready for installation WHEN YOU PULL IT OUT OF THE BAG. There is no mention that it's ready for installation AFTER you also get the required power booster. As to your point...I believe the correct wording should have been "this MUST be combined with the light booster". Not "when" combined. That makes it seem as if the lights will work right out of the bag (since it was explicitly stated) and WHEN combined with the booster it will provide a full 12V.

I also explicitly asked them when I messaged them on ebay. I asked if this product can be plugged directly into the receiver. Their response..."Thanks for reaching out, yes you can connect them directly into your receiver port". So yeh....I did read the description and didn't buy this with any assumptions. Just clear black and white writing and a DIRECT response from Amain.

I've never had a problem with Amain and I've ordered many things from them with great service. But I'm sorry, everything about that description on their site is very misleading. Directly telling a customer incorrect information is misleading. They didn't actually know anything about this product, even though they were selling it in their store. They took three days to get back to me, just to tell me I needed a booster. Even they didn't know. That's terrible for any retailer, period.

Looks like a lot of fun!

I bet the moss on the rocks proved an interesting challenge.

I’ve been less than pleased with my direct Amain experiences.

Now I will only buy from them if I can’t find what I want anywhere else.

That being said I do believe I’ve purchased from them on eBay and that’s been great.

Yep lol, that moss was super slick. I slipped right off and put the first scratch on the body lol

I've had a pretty good experience with Amain so far. They've had the things I've needed in the past and they usually got back to me pretty quickly on inquiries. But this has been the first hiccup so far. I'd understand if I just ordered it without asking. But I specifically asked if any other sort of wiring would be needed in addition to this product. They flat out told me no, that it would plug right into the receiver. I don't expect them to know everything about every product...but knowing how it works should at least be a minimum. No worries though, I got my switch from Powershift. I just need to install everything.

Amain support has been weird lately. I asked them what the most common upgrades were for the SSD Trail King and I was told “most people upgrade the RTR servo first, that would be at the top of my list before anything else” Really? I just laughed when I got that response lol.

Hey guys! I finally got tired of the XJ body and I just ordered two new bodies. One for display and the other for crawling lol. I came across these wheels on Amazon and I think they would look great with both bodies. Does anyone have any experience with these wheels? Will they clear the SSD brass portal covers? It looks like they wont from the pics, but I can't tell.

Does anyone knows of any wheels that look like these and definitely clear the portal covers? Thanks in advance!

Aww man, the XJ is my favorite lmao.

Excited to see what bodies you got

I’m not sure on the weights.

LOL, I tried some 1.55" wheels on with the XJ last night. Looked cool, but there's no way they are clearing the portal covers lol. That's when I found those 1.9 "scale" looking wheels on Amazon. I'd like something with a retro/scale look to match the new bodies. I'll post some pics once they're done .

I've ordered these 2.2 wheels off Ebay --> https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1P-2-2-Be...53.m2749.l2649

They kinda look like those 1.55 ones.

Nice build. You should flit the bumper brackets, and then put some spacers under the rock sliders to gain so more clearance.

I tried flipping the bumpers and didn't like the look on the XJ. I just flipped them for this new body I'm working on, and it looks much better with this one. Now I have to raise the sliders. Any easy way to do that?

I designed some spacers specifically for the TRX4 Spory that work great. I then printed them in red plastic to match the other red parts. If you go to my build thread you will see them.

Hey guys! I finally finished one of the bodies. This will be my crawling body so it wont look this great for long lol. I bought the 3D printed parts to raise the sliders but then I removed them. I like the way it looks a little lower, kind of like a running board. I still have to attach the grill, it's currently taped into place . I have some scale accessories and a few more decals to add but I couldn't pass up the meet today!

That’s awesome!!!!

The “break spot” group picture is cool!

I really like the looks of your rig and that looks like a really fun area!

Thanks! The area is awesome. The park is massive and there are rocks for crawling EVERYWHERE. It's literally an RC crawling dream over here lol. Some guys even went to the trouble of setting up a scale trail. That's the figures/signs/cones/etc. I've been going to this park for a while now, and I had no idea that scale trail was there!
