Default Hot racing brass

I recently put the hot racing brass knuckle weights found here on my trx4 blazer but none of my rims fit. A bit of clearance was made for some different stock trx4 rims by grinding away a bit of brass but before I grind away even more, i thought I'd ask if anyone had any better suggestions. Bead locks that you know work, wider hex's and longer shafts?

I managed to swap rims and it works but I think it's still rubbing somewhere so I'd like to look at other options, plus I'd really like to put my hyrax's on it.

Which part of the wheel do they rub? From the picture it seems they stick out a lot. Maybe some axle extenders would solve the problem if they rub against the hex socket wall. If they rub against the inner rim wall it will be more tricky to fit them.

I thought they were rubbing where the black arrow points but I ground that down so that it slopes from the outer part towards the center. Now that has a bit of clearance so it must be rubbing on the inner ring where the red arrow is.

It seems to slide on the plastic pretty good so for now I'm hoping it'll self clearance the plastic on the rim. I could get in there with a file and make some room but I was mostly curious if there was anyone that had use these weights with beadlocks instead of the stock glue on rims.

As a temporary solution you could flip the hex round so the collar faces out. I ran like this for months as I did not realise. Haha!

I would try that with the stock motor but I put a 3300kv axe into it too

That is an interesting design the more I look at it.

You could get wider hexes to push the wheel out from the brass.

I got some brass ones from either Yeah racing or RC4WD. Best part about them was longer pins that go through the entire stub axle unlike the stock ons.

I have a similar design knuckle and my Proline wheels just touch so I used 12mm wideners. works good.
