Default Performance of the Proline Jeep 324mm body

I've picked up a Trx 4 Defender and all reports suggest this body is super tippy and top heavy. I'm trying to decide whether to drop it to 313mm and put a sport body on it or try a different 324mm body.

I like the idea of being able to quickly swap back the Defender body when I feel like it so the Proline Jeep body is an attractive option. It will also work out a lot cheaper than doing the conversion (£48 shell vs about £100 in parts to go sport...)

How is the performance of the Proline Jeep body? Does it get the COG down enough to fix some of the tippyness of the Defender?

My only real issue with the Jeep at the moment is I definitely prefer the flatbed look of the Sport body but I can't find anything in a 324mm wheelbase that has a flatbed.

I think the Jeep body will definitely help lower the centre of gravity. A lot of the weight on the defender body is from the cage, so you could also try removing, but then you lose the look. A lot of folks have opted to add brass weights to the axles which really helps plant the weight down low.

To be perfectly honest, if all your are doing is moderate trail rides with the occasional moderate hill or rock climb you shouldn’t need to alter your truck to much. I put brass portal covers and a Bow House low centre of gravity tray on my defender and that works just fine the crawling I do.

This body? https://www.amainhobbies.com/proline...502-00/p730270

I had this exact body and it was a good improvement over the stock Bronco, so I can only imagine how much of a difference it would be compared to the Defender.
