About to buy the traxxas kit, 8035, but have heard mixed reviews... Anything else I should consider? |

The reflectors are great. The LEDs are bright blue xenon, absolutely not '79 style. The lights are all always on, not scale, and can't be simply converted to anything smart. The power supply often dies pretty fast, and as Traxxas can't do anything with copper or silicon they chose to parallel all LEDs and power them with 2.85V fixed voltage instead of a proper current limited system. That means if it breaks you will have some trouble to replace it with something common, like a real controller with a resistor and a fixed voltage. As the rear and marker lights are standard 3 and 5mm i'd recommend using those and buy some front lamps off ebay or so. That'll maybe need some mods on the fenders, but a look at the manual or pics will tell you that. And that way you could use a light controller that can add some realism. |

I've got the mytrickrc bronco kit in mine and really like it. I also added an additional set of floods on the push bar. https://mytrickrc.com/collections/of...onco-light-kit |
