Biggest issue I see is the axle width vs body width. FJ40 hardbody is 8 1/4" wide, TRX4 axle with typical (SSD) offset wheels is 9 1/4". Are you gonna do a portal delete? That would certainly help with the axle width. The wheelbase is about 11"- 11 1/8" for the FJ40 so thats not too far to shorten the TRX4. I built a FJ40 using the GCM racing CMAX chassis, its super scale and a bit of a lowrider for a crawler. I'm guessing you know this already but Proline has a lexan FJ40 made for the 12.8" (?) TRX4 though it is hideous in my opinion (look at the size of the windshield). They also missed the fact that the front axle is pushed forward in the wheelwell not centered. |

As per HumboldtEF, going with SSD portal delete kits would narrow it - from their site: Track width is reduced by 12mm (6mm each side) That's just shy of a half inch taken out of the track width, and getting the right offset wheels could get you further. |

Proline body, with SSD PDK. Those pics had 350 hubs with brass weights sandwiched in so they were a bit wide. Without the brass weights: |

Thanks for the info guys, looks like It would be quite a task and a lot of dollar to do. I already have the proline body in the same mustard as above, nice body just want more detail.
