Tamiya YJ Body Hey everyone, I have a TRX4 with the Proline Jeep body and I was wondering if anyone has attempted a Tamiya YJ on there. I know the axles would be pushed out and I would want to comp cut it, but I was looking to model my latest 1:1. I just trying to decide if it would be TOO much stretch.... The 1:1 in question (side shot for gauging stretch): https://scontent-den4-1.xx.fbcdn.net...51&oe=611ED750 |
Re: Tamiya YJ Body I’m not saying it’s not possible, but would be quite a bit shorter and narrower. I can get you a pic of one sitting on a Trx4 Blazer if it helps when I get home from work. That is if it fits over my interior. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Tamiya YJ Body I'm pretty sure the YJ has a 9.5 inch WB, So depending on your TRX4 WB it might look right...I know my K5 blazer body would engulf the Jeep body. Will snap some pics in the morning for you! Brad |

Re: Tamiya YJ Body Trx is 12.3 YJ is 9.5, you would probably have to shorten the rear links a bit to get it just right, also cut the rear frame rails so they don't stick out but for the look you're going for I think it'll work Sent from my SM-N981U using Tapatalk |
Re: Tamiya YJ Body As promised. Best l could dohttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...747dc4a092.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...28d3cc8aec.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...0ff27e668b.jpg Brad Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Tamiya YJ Body I hope this helps, but looks like way too much work. I think the Trx is closer to 1/8th scale. And Tamiya is known for fudging their scales a little bit as well. Brad Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Tamiya YJ Body Thanks, that helps a ton! Looks like the wheelbase may have worked out pretty good but the width is way off... Oh well. |
Re: Tamiya YJ Body Width of the axles in relation to the body actually doesn't look too bad when I look again, but seems I would have to hack up the floor pans to get it to fit. |
Re: Tamiya YJ Body I think it'll work, like I said you'll need shorter links in the rear, trim the chassis rails, floor boards should work with trimming, inner fenders would need to be removed, but axle width looks good. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...5e8a08c4d3.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...782d3e2ad2.jpg Sent from my SM-N981U using Tapatalk |
Re: Tamiya YJ Body Yeah, that wheelbase is looking pretty close. Hmm... Quote:
