U4RC Rock Racing Series info and update thread. 1 Attachment(s) We will be using this thread as an ongoing info thread for the U4RC Rock Racing Series. For the latest info always check the last posts in this thread. Also be sure to check out and like our facebook page at Ultimate4rc.com for additional info. U4RC started in 2010 with the King of the Compound races in Apple valley. In April of this year we were offered the opportunity to create a permanent track at Glen Helen R/C Raceway in Devore. Since then we have run three races, 2 at Glean Helen, and one that the KOTC track. During that time we have discussed, and have come up with a set of classes and some basic rules that we feel fit our series pretty good, based on the experience from the first races. These rules are open for discussion among anyone that has input, and in fact we welcome that input. |
Re: U4RC Rock Racing Series info and update thread. you stated this is not a "foot" race so will all of the drives be in a drivers stand? I feel that by doing that if that is the case you will end up having a hard time creating new tracks or locations just my .02 |
Re: U4RC Rock Racing Series info and update thread. What about the TH? 1.9 but with IFS and plastic tub? |

We will also have "endurance" type races that is why we put "as much as possible." |
Re: U4RC Rock Racing Series info and update thread. Great input and questions guys! K.Hess; Great points, thanks for the topic. You are right it is difficult to design a course where you don't have to chase your rig. The "not a foot race" statement is pertaining to the fact that we want to see the best "driver/rig" combination win the race. Not just the driver that is most physically fit/capable win the race just because he/she can chase a car around faster. In our eyes that doesn't prove the best "r/c rig" just the most fit driver participating in the race. We have already had drivers show up to race that are wheelchair bound. We would like to allow those drivers a fair chance at a win also. Of course not all venues are going to be condusive to this. Some of the endurance races definitley will require drivers to follow thier rigs more. Course design is critical in avoiding "chasing rigs" as much as possible. I have another write-up that addresses "Course Design" that I will postup when I get the opportunity. It contains lots of helpful tips that may help others set up tracks. And may answer several questions that people have. |
Re: U4RC Rock Racing Series info and update thread. The classes sound great ...it will be fun to see the lap times of each class. |
How will scoring be done? Will it be similar to normal racing with a sensor And tracking device? |

Re: U4RC Rock Racing Series info and update thread. I also have another location to build a track. |
Re: U4RC Rock Racing Series info and update thread. All I need to do is get a 35T motor and I'm out there. Glenn Helen would be closest to me. When's the next race? |
Re: U4RC Rock Racing Series info and update thread. We had originally scheduled the race for the 27th of this month, not realizing there were 2 conflicting events. The Lucas Oil 1:1 Series is in town the same weekend, and also the WCRCC awards banquet is that day. Clogged 2 lane road, and stepping on another local series was not something we wanted to do. It is looking like July 20th at 10 am at this point to get our monthly race in. 8) |
Re: U4RC Rock Racing Series info and update thread. I might be able to make that one. If not, I'll be at the next one. |
Re: U4RC Rock Racing Series info and update thread. Hope both my rigs are ready by the 20th. |
The 20th works out better for me anyway. See ya then |
