Look here fella hobbyists I'm in Panama City FL
and me and some friends have built a U4 track here.
Iv watched Glen Helen vids. so I am familiar with that track.
I'm trying to figure out how to direct a race. The track is a
a long oval.
-SO does everyone follow their trucks? (we will have to)
-Is there a time trial?
-do ,I make gates ?
- do I make up my own rules
-Do I make classes( BL and B) (1.9-2.2)
I would like to follow what I need to so that in the near future we
can be on the map as a place to come and give it all you got.
Thanks folks I have a FB page - Panamacity Monster R/C
Hope it was ok to tell of a FB page sorry if so.

Is Glen Helen the only track of its kind around USA.
Im trying here in PC , FL
Im following the class rules of the rigs from U4RC on their FB page.
We have to follow our rigs around the outside of the track.
one lap around takes almost 4 min passing thru the gates.
Iv easier ways and harder ways.
should I send one driver at a time and follow with a pad and pencil and knock time off for passing the hard gates?
Im winging it from here.

I think this is still very new, but somewhere in this section they show you a class and rules layout. I think it's setup really nice!

its a track race..not a G6.

so no gates..

just timed..
everyone goes at once.

Our club here in Ark is gonna start a U4Rc race series this year across the state.

Our Home track is at Superlift Orvpark, 2 other orvparks have chimed in and want to start something as well.

We will also be using the U4RC rules.

Maybe we can have a few qualifiers across the usa and a U4RC nationals??

Like ROLANDROCKSHOP said, no gates, we time everything with transponders. I think rockpiledriver can help you with what you want to know.

I put on a rock race every year in the mountains just outside of Albuquerque called the Halloween hammerdown. how I run mine is unlimited 1.9 and unlimited 2.2. I see it as the less rules the easier it is to run. we have to follow our rigs through out the course and we have no gates. our only rules are stay on the trail, and if your rig rolls or gets hung up you may roll it back onto its wheels by hand, you cant advance while doing this, you may back up but not forward. as far as top finishers, 1st place in each class is the winners. we keep it very simple, and that seem to work the best for us. hope this helps

U4RC Rules:

U4RC’s main focus is to provide hobbyists an avenue to race r/c vehicles in as similar and "scale" fashion as possible to full size rock racing. There can be both, endurance themed and short course style tracks designed. It is the intention of U4RC to showcase the r/c rig’s capabilities, not the physical condition of the driver, as much as possible. Meaning that, "these are r/c car races, not human foot races". Courses will be designed with the intent of "equal chance for all", as much as possible. It has to look like something you would see on a 1:1 trail, race, or street rig.

Thanks for the comments! Yes, we envision short course racing from a fixed location. We do however plan to do endurance type racing as well. Another concept we have used that is somewhat in between one drivers area, and following the rigs, is having a few fixed locations that the drivers could move back and forth between depending on what part of the track they are on. This is what we did at one race held in Apple Valley last series and it worked out pretty well.

[QUOTE=panama;4579239]Look here fella hobbyists I'm in Panama City FL

I'm trying to figure out how to direct a race. The track is a
a long oval.
-SO does everyone follow their trucks? (we will have to)
* We don't follow rigs at Glen Helen Raceway. We utilize a driver's stand. A driver's stand is not mandatory, or that you don't follow your rigs. You will have to work with the layout that is available to you. You want your drivers to "move around" as little as possible. We have several handicapped drivers that show up from time to time, so we try to accomadate them.

-Is there a time trial?
*We run a timing system at GH, so our short course races are timed. Typically 6min Heats and 8-10min Main races. With out a timing system you would just manually score by laps(easier without timing). The racing structure is typically; heat's, lcq's, main's.

-do ,I make gates ?
*We don't use gates for our short course races. We try to design course so that drivers are directed into a tuff or challenge section without the need for gates. It proved to be difficult to keep track of gates and penalties during the fast pace of short course races.

- do I make up my own rules
*That's what we did!... Actually there is a full set of rules/guidelines here on RCC in the U4RC section. If you need to adjust rules slightly to match your facility, do it. We are in the planning stages of "National" and "Regional" type events for next year, so plan on tuning your drivers toward those events.

-Do I make classes( BL and B) (1.9-2.2)
* It doesn't matter B or BL. There are 4 Classes (2=1.9" and 2=2.2") already designated for U4RC racing. These classes cover just about every type of scale rig we have think works for this sytle racing.

I would like to follow what I need to so that in the near future we
can be on the map as a place to come and give it all you got.
Thanks folks I have a FB page - Panamacity Monster R/C
Hope it was ok to tell of a FB page sorry if so.
*The closer you follow the U4RC guidelines the easier your events should be. Feel free to PM Me, Rockpiledriver or Jerry5275 about any U4RC related questions you have. Let us know when you get your track "On Line" and we will look into getting your events promoted here in the U4RC section of RCC and also over on our FB page as well.[QUOTE]

I will have to check with the rest of the U4RC staff, I think there may be several tracks in the "Sunshine State" going LIVE soon.

I like this idea. Im going to look at the track and see what I can do to.
Trying to use the area to its best capabilities and flow,
This is fun to build.
Thanks folks for all the information.

Yes, its a land rush start and first one back to the start/finish line after the two laps is the winner. No time keeping necessary for either class.
