RUMBLE @ RYE CREEK

U4RC/KOH style event
Some of us found an abandoned rock quarry in Rye, in central Arizona and have been burning batteries and having fun there.
We thought, what better place to have a rock racer type event than a rock quarry,
so to that end.
Sunday, March 2, 2014, 10a +-
We will be setting course(s), running laps and racing U4/KOH style.
This quarry also offers a plethora of opportunities for G6 and trail running.
I even found places (creek banks) for hill climbing
and a place for flat track, if you may :ror:
This event will be a
"run what ya brung"
type event and we will make adjustments as needed.

Awards will be "braggin' rights" and possibly a token of accomplishment.

Suggestions and ?'S welcomed.

I had pics of the place but don't seem to be able to post them here.
I did in the Arizona forum

thanks for asking....
I saw your other post and you do same thing we do but I think here, because it's a rock quarry/creek there might be a few larger rocks/boulders.....

Garmin mapsource gps coordinate are:
34.05.43 N
111.21.22 W

Rye, which is on state rt 87, about 10 miles south of payson and the creek /quarry is on the west side of the rd.
if coming from points north, when you see 4-seasons motorsports (atv shop) turn is .75 miles further right at "dana law firm" billboard.
mile marker 240.

if coming from points south.
when you pass the road/turn to Gisela it's .4 miles further, by "el rancho" billboard, mile marker 240.
there is no turn lane and it kinda sneaks up on you, be aware.

location is by a r/c air strip so please don't drive on their runway.
more than ample parking bearing north /right as you come in.

now that this is done, it would be nice to get a roll call, please......

if anyone on this forum is interested in a course map & description of the
rumble @ rye creek ,
you will have to go to the regional, Arizona forum for a map & description.

I'm, apparently not a seasoned enough hand to post pics in other than the regional forum, er somethin'....wtf.... :?: :ror:
