Default Servo carnage Damn you U4RC.

Servo carnage Damn you U4RC.
This is my 5995 hitec servo, obviously I'll buy a new servo case.
Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

I agree. His 5995 has to be several years old. With the Savox you will replace them almost weekly, so they should never be in long enough to crack a case.

Servo is a few years old. Servo motor/gears are fine just cracked top of case.

MKS servos are incredible.

I use the HBL 850 in my U4 rig and its the best servo I have ever used.

You could always try driving over the rocks instead of trying to drive through them.

I'm on my third SG 1230 case. Get a servo with a full metal case, Savox 1283 or the now Holmes one. I'll pick up the HH servo once he gets the gear issues resolved.

Or you can get a new case and run the vp servo armor the help prevent this.

I know I'm cracking them from hitting the servo horn. The armor would really have stiffen things up to help. I like to hit stuff

I trying, just can't see in front of my rig from the drivers stand.

I think I'll try out my D-lux AR60 servo mount getting the horn up out of the way.

I don't think it's from a direct hit to the servo. Either I'm hitting the servo arm in the rock piles or from taking a nosedive off a kicker landing pretty hard on front wheels sending a jolt to the servo case.
Not sure.

What did this used to be attached to?

edit: Still zero U4 failures with my Futaba BLS157hv. I finally broke the one in my 2.2P comp rig after 3 years of driving it. The servo TimSmith has look pretty nice too

Hmmm, I'll google it now. I have another option going to take awhile but I plan on dropping the servo behind the axle.

Will a servo bash guard from a E-Maxx work?

There's no room between the bumper and servo on mine. Moving the servo to the back of the axle is really the only option as far as protecting the horn. In the mean time, I took one of the old cracked cases, CA glued the crack shut and coated the entire cover in JB weld. Even put the sticker back on, sleeper style Held up for 30 minutes yesterday, we'll see if it lasts a week or two.
