I'm thinking about a new motor for my U4 styled Wraith. I'm using an MMP and have tried a sensored Tekin 13.5, as well as a sensored 13.5 Ballistic crawler motor. I am wanting something with a little more torque as this rig weighs in right at 10lbs. It's built with VP lockers, UD gears, VVD's, RR trans, no slipper, 32p gearing, and MIP's. I don't want crazy power, just more wheel speed, torque, and the ability to still do some G6 style crawling without overheating it. So, what does everyone recommend? Looking to stay BL and sensored. ![]() Last edited by 90Finder; 12-29-2014 at 11:39 AM. |

Tekin of course... I run a tekin rx8 with a pro4 in my u4 wraith and a I run a lrp x12 4.5 turn in my yeti and run a rx8 in it as well.. Then it's all about the gearing....

Tekin hands down, ROC 412 3100Kv, or if you want trans snapping torque an HD Pro4.

That non-sensored setup probably doesn't do so well going slow does it?

So what are the differences between the roc412 and the pro4?

In my Sexo. I found the HH Trailmaster to be nicer, all-around, then the Pro4.. It has more torque, smoother crawling, and some good wheel speed(20mph)! Tho it wasn't as fast as my 4000kv(of course) I just swapped in a 3500kv HD and just got the beadlock rings to get tires mounted back on it. It's on EVO tracks right now. I have a 3000kv HD in my Yeti. It's working pretty good so far. No complaints on heat, crawling, or the 30mph top end! New HH Trailmaster coming in to test out against it. So we shall see.. ![]() |

Hey Jake! All the above mentioned are run on 4s.. Best results/longevity out of the Trailmaster, so far.. Only a couple packs on the 3500kv HD so far. EDIT: The 3000kv HD is putting out 30mph in the Yeti.. I'll get tires on the Sexo and GPS the speed of that. Last edited by winnerone23; 01-08-2015 at 12:01 PM. |

Interesting about the HH motor. I might have to look into it more, I want a different motor.

The TrailMaster BL would make a pretty big difference over a normal racing motor without getting too porky. If you want a bigger kick in the pants I have the Puller Pro BL 540XL sensored four pole coming in about 6 weeks. It is 63mm long, same as the stock yeti motor but with a bit more stator and magnet length crammed inside. Last edited by JohnRobHolmes; 01-08-2015 at 09:53 PM. |

I've put it through paces in my yeti, I really like the speed boost and it can run on 4s as well. Runs pretty cool on stock gearing with 3s, cooler than the stock motor from my testing so far.

So which motor of yours would you compare to the roc412 3100 or the pro4 on 3s?
