U4 1.9 shock recommandation and setting I'm building a 1.9 U4 rig, I'm using SCX10's Powerstroke for now they're not doing it for me. What would be a good and not overpriced (like the Velvet) shock set. What about springs and oil as a starting point? The chassis is pretty light, no cage, carbon fibre chassis and plastic wheels. Thanks for the help. Gilles |
Re: U4 1.9 shock recommandation and setting My 1.9 ibex, has the Gmade piggy backs, 35wt oil, stock springs. The dampening is perfect. The rig weighs 7lb 4oz with a 3s. 1.9 Ibex tuber |
Re: U4 1.9 shock recommandation and setting Thanks BMXreeves, I was starting to consider thos shocks as well! |
Re: U4 1.9 shock recommandation and setting X2 on the Gmades XD. i run the Aeration version but same shock |
Re: U4 1.9 shock recommandation and setting Aeration vs Diaphragm, I'm not sure which one works best for this application. Also what springs do you run on those, Gmade only have 3 different references, soft, medium and hard. Thanks guys |
Re: U4 1.9 shock recommandation and setting i prefer the aeration style to the ones with the damn diaphrams in them because im used to associated stuff, and also because i hate them little shock bladder things. i have the gmade piggybacks as well and they are suuuuper smooth. the one thing with the gmades it you have to be very particular when building them or else they will leak. |
Re: U4 1.9 shock recommandation and setting I used the losi 22t rear shocks they pop up on ebay i think i payed 30 a set great shocks with tons of tuning options |

Re: U4 1.9 shock recommandation and setting I've just picked up a pair of the GMade piggybacks (have yet to install them), but I have a question that maybe I'm not the only one asking: does anyone know how/why aeration is preferable in a RC shock? I always thought aeration was considered a bad thing, but the GMade shocks have a valve to deliberately induce aeration?? I'm confused - And I'm not trying to hijack the thread - just seemed kinda relevant to the conversation about what shocks to choose even though I already chose mine (honestly, mostly based on looks and availability) |
